Makes you wonder if the pads are subcontracted to the same company that does the key fobs. :)

better to get them to acknowledge and order parts to repair than a sharp stick in the eye - aka "it normal" and move along.

Finally tracked my guy down because he picked up the phone at the dealership. He said unless they mass produce it it’ll be months due to long list of vehicles needing it. What a load of crap

these corporations use all of their resources to get the most out of consumers while giving back the bare minimum. After buying so many bridges in this life, you start to see things from the trolls perspective

The parts are not on back order per se. There are plenty of them out there in different warehouses. The main problem is Toyota has put these parts on a "MAC" release. Each dealership can only order 1 set of the TSB parts per week. It gets new rotor, pads, shim, fit kit, and brake caliper grease. So dealers have to order all those parts on the same order reference # and they only get a set of parts per week. So unless your dealer has tons of Tundras in need of this TSB it should only be taking a few days.

these brakes are semi metallic asphalt terrain, durably used in variably performance environments

    Yes.

Different areas of the country have different warehouses. They also have different demands when it comes to particular parts.

The brake squeal has been an issue since the 3rd Gen was introduced, so there were a lot of owners waiting for a resolution to this. They also just expanded the brake squeal issue to the LX600 and GX550. I would assume that the Land Cruiser is next because owners are complaining about it as well.

It was about 3-4 weeks ago, new parts have been in for 10 days. Happy to report no brake noise since the change.
As sudobash posted , I guess some dealers have better resources for parts.

When I had mine in for its 5K I mentioned it and since they couldn't reproduce the squeal at the time, they wouldn't order parts. So, basically I'm a liar.
Will do it every. single. time. when it's cold. (After sitting overnight; not dependant on ambient temperature.)
They wanted me to make a separate service appointment just so they could "evaluate" and hopefully order parts. And back a third time after that to install.
My closest dealer is 40 minutes away.

I just avoid backing up when it's cold now.

If a vehicle that is covered by the state’s lemon law is not repaired within a reasonable time, the owner is entitled to a refund, replacement vehicle, or cash compensation. Therefore, the owner of a new vehicle that has been sitting in their driveway or the repair shop waiting for a replacement part may be legally entitled to demand a full refund or replacement vehicle.

I would go back to the dealership and repeat verbatim and say because brakes are a safety system you would like a loaner vehicle for the duration of the repair.
