    Hey there forum. Did a search first but didn't see anything. 2020 Tundra Crewmax SR5. When stepping on brake, lights flash 3 times then stay solid. Purchased truck used 6 months ago but have no idea if it was happening since purchasing. Any idea what is going on?

    Hi. Welcome. Taillights or 3rd brake light? Either way probably aftermarket lights. Any pictures?
    I changed my 3rd brake light and it does the same thing

    As.mentioned, post pics of the tail lights and the 3rd brake light. Some of the aftermarket brake lights have the 3 flash option.

    Ok thanks for the info. Never knew this possible. I just had my wife watch them. It's just the third brake light doing this. Some one else said the others were doing it but they don't. Thanks.

    I always hated that. Makes me think I am behind one of those brake tapping idiots with a half mile of open lane ahead of them or am getting brake checked. Seem to be popular in Chevys for some reason
    For a while some folks were installing a strobe like effect on their brake lights. Put a person following in an epileptic seizure.

    Does the light look OEM?
    It could be a module placed in the circuit to make it do that.

    I hate it every time I see them. Some dealerships use them as a money maker by pre-installing them and marking up your purchase price with a “brake safety feature” or “pulse braking.” I see some reports of dealer markups of $400 for this cheap add on. And apparently they are not even legal everywhere.
