So, my 2019 limited double cab is approaching 100k. For several reasons, It's time to add a plow.

I found a Boss plow on CL that came with the hardware/bracket and harness. I thought it was a good deal and was local so I bought it. In my limited research, It sounded like the same harness could be used for LED headlights. I was pretty sure his truck had LED, as did mine, so I figured same-same and would plug and play.

Well, I took it to the installer today (feeling lazy on self install) and they tell me it needs a new harness to the tune of nearly $500 as its not compatible with my truck?

The plow is a Boss and it came off a 2016 Platinum Crewmax. My truck is a 2019 Limited double cab.

So, any help is appreaciated. Are the harnesses plug and play? If not, Can I buy just the pigtails for the headlights? Can I change headlights or bulbs instead of buying the whole harness?

Thanks for the help in advance.

I had an older Boss Sport Duty (half ton) plow on my 2012 Tundra. Before trading it in, I had my installer remove the mount and wiring harness. He then reinstalled those components on my new ‘21 with LED headlights. He did have to order adapters for the LED headlights and my understanding is they are just plug and play between the Boss wiring harness and the factory headlights. They are not cheap though, he charged me $325 for the adapters.
If I remember correctly, you can go on Boss’ website and spec out all the equipment for a particular truck. It’ll ask you if you have LED headlights and give you the part number for that particular adapter.
Truck handles the plow great by the way, and I hope to upgrade to a newer ‘HTX’ model plow in the next year or two.
    Hope this helps.

Thanks for the feedback. I went ahead about bought the harness and will try to self install.
