Hi all. I just bought a 2015 crewmax. It currently has a 4"x2" levelling lift kit on it. I cannot go any higher with a suspension lift or it will void the certified warranty. I would love some opinions on doing a possible 3" body lift....not my first choice, but like I said, I cannot do anymore suspension lift to it. Anyone done a body lift to theirs? Pros/cons? Difficulty? How clean did it turn out? Etc. Any help will be greatly appreciated

We need more info. What are you trying to accomplish? Desired tire size? Intended use? You'll probably have to extend a bunch of lines/wires if you add that much body lift. The more you can tell everyone the better.

Ok, so the truck has 35's under it now, which I like, I don't want to go bigger. They are sitting at about 40%, and they rub, now it's plastic that's rubbing, no big deal to trim, but once new tires go on, it's gonna be annoying. All in all what I want is a taller ride height. My last tundra (08 double cab) had a 6 in suspension lift, I loved the ride height/look of the truck. I've done body lifts on older pickups so I know there needs to be extensions, brake lines etc. I'm just not sure on this newer stuff. Long winded I'm sorry, I want the lift for the looks, and to clear the 35's better

Well a lot of the guys trim the plastics to get 35s to clear. That and a cmc (bmc) that's what I would to in your position for now, then do a 6 in suspension when the warranty is up. My concern with body lifts is the bolts. 7ac2c1207b4d789a8f1685c82c42a2a5_a680b02a0290d7dbdee2994edf04ff87c4b82bb5.jpgive installed a couple and and every time I think about all the torque applied to those bolts going around a turn. Just scares me. My piece of mind has kept me away from them. But the vehicle I would of put them in was an off-roader... Just my two penny's. Probably not really what you wanted to hear.

Welcome btw! Mind sharing a few pics of your truck?:worthless:

I've read in some other forums where some people brought up that same concern of mounting bolts, it all boiled down to, yes technically it's stressful on the hardware, realistically it's not going to be an issue, tundra mounts in 18 places, you'd have to do some serious wheeling and whatnot to see any harm, for a pavement pounder, I'll never see the effects of it.

    Cmc, bmc?

The warranty is good for another 5-6 years, at which time I'll be ready for another truck so I would like to make something work during my tenure lol.

Aramirez, can you explain what you're talking about, toytec, coachbuilder? I have not heard anything about those.

Cab mount chop. Or body mount chop depending who you talk to.

Toytec and coach builder are suspension companies. Toytecs guys are really cool. @ToyTec Lifts David is the employee that runs their account on this forum. He's a good guy. As are all the toytec guys.

I personally haven't dealt with coach builder but their products are good quality from what I have seen.

As for it being a pavement princess, ya you'll be good with a body lift.

Yeah my 08 hated the 6" lift, I replaced around 6 axles, got tired of that. Anyone out here have a body lift on their tundra? Pics? In specific, anyway to cover up the gap at the towing receiver?

You shouldn't really need more lift to fit bigger tires. The wheel wells are plenty large - I fit LT285/75R18 Nitto Exo Grapplers just by lifting the front two inches. What wheel/tire setup are you running? Also, this thread is still has no truck pictures.

Both tundras I've owned with 35's will not fit without rubbing. I've owned an 08, and a 15. The other side to my post was the look I was going for, not only fitment.

You could always try making your own body lift kit. The 3" kit out there for the Tundras (only Performance Accessories makes one) uses some weak nylon pucks that are hollowed out along with some bolts that aren't grade 8 (I don't think they're even grade 5). The 3" kit, or really anything over 1" for a body lift on any Toyota truck, requires too much cutting of important hoses/lines for me to feel safe about -- plus, I don't need that much body lift anyway.

I just ordered some materials over the weekend to make my own 3/4" body lift using solid UHMW pucks and grade 8 hardware. I went with 3/4" because it's less than the safe 1" limit for Toyotas and a little over enough of what I needed to clear my 40" tires.

Probably nothing performance wise, the only thing I would like is the supercharger but I'm not dropping that coin. Just lighting, and add ons. What do you have?

I personally don't have anything done to mine. It's a 2wd that I use as a truck. I resently rolled my daily 4Runnerwhen I was wheeling so I'm driving the tundra full time... Mpg sucks....

Actually I take that back. I put a set of stock third Gen wheels on it. But that's about it. Had some guys (no one on here lol) say that I should lower it. Been debating on that lol but mine will always remain relatively stock

I've heard this here time and time again, toyota says it will void your warranty, but does it really?? I've heard Toyota has to prove whatever went wrong with your truck was caused by the lift. It's not necessarly true. Also depending on what lift you get they have 5 years 60 or 75k warranty for you. You can call them if an issues happened and they will deal with Toyota or replace issue
