With all the sweet wheel and tire combos going on in the Tundra world does it seem to be a common problem to get excessive chips/dings in the doors/rockers when tires extend past the body line? I recently put on some Method plus 18 offsets and it looks rad but now I’m wondering if I should do some of the 3m protection on the rockers. The truck is pretty much used as a general use and not doing any serious off road time.

I’ve had method wheels with a +18 offset on for about 8 months and haven’t had any damage from debris. I’ve been off-road a couple times, but most of my driving is on-road.

sweet that’s the confidence I was looking for lol they don’t stick out terribly bad but I’ve never had that on a truck before so I wasn’t sure what I was getting into. I don’t care for fender flares and I ran into the wheels at a great price so I jumped on them and didn’t think much about the offset at the moment

Of course its common with your wheels sticking 2-3” past the well line. I’m sure dirt and all kinds of stuff flings up on your side view mirrors, as well. You need some wheel well flares.

If you are on gravel much you don’t want your tires outside the fenders.

I am on gravel and constantly slinging rocks not a chance in the world I’d have tires outside the fenders not fender flares as they look like crap.

11” wide tires work just fine.

yea I’m kind of bummed I love the wheels but it seems they only come in 0 or +18 offset which puts it outside of the body.

Sticking out past the fender will get rock chips up the side of your tundra...... Specially if it's a aggressive tread design and you run on any gravel roads. Looks good though.
I added running boards it helps some.

I've got +25 wheels on mine, and I have several self inflicted rock chips as a result. Probably wind up bed lining the lower portion of the truck some day. For now, she's a tough truck and can handle a few scars.

I have 295/70R18 on +18 Raceline Gauge. I’ve have a few rocks hit the side of my truck, but not as bad as I was expecting. They don’t stick out that bad

Nothing special just the factory running boards ...I no longer have +18 offset wheels back to factory with 3/4" spacers. IMG_3726.jpg

Its allowable due to the Universal Subject of Tires. Plus, I get a jab in at the same time.

This will always be relative to the environment. Off-road will definitely be an issue. On road will be eventually.
