    Hi All..
My 2020 Limited's Bluetooth speaker phone seems to pickup any\all noise around to the point I really cant use it when the vehicle is moving or AC\heater is blowing. I'm using an Samsung Galaxy S8 and the factory head unit. I checked all the settings... maybe I'm missing something but I can hear the other person fine but they cant hear me unless I am yelling. Truck is 100% stock so no loud exhaust\tires.

    Thanks for reading...

Few things I would think of to troubleshoot right offhand. Disconnect phone from truck, delete truck from phone, reboot phone and truck and re-pair and see if that helps. If not, try another phone if possible, even a different brand (apple) and see if it still happens. If so, maybe go to dealer then and see if mic is bad or loose. If it works with a different phone, maybe time for a new phone...

The mic is right above your head in the headliner.

A few... Definitely more than 2
Might be totally off base here but, in my 2012 there are two different ways that you can pair your phone. One is like music only mode where the phone will play sounds over the truck speakers but when you answer a call it still uses the phone mic, and the other is full phone mode where it uses both the truck speakers and mic. Someone with a closer year to your system would have to confirm that though.

Thx Doc.. All good points! I played with all the settings but didn't try a disconnect\delete\reboot nor did I think abut the mic being defective. I will try the easy options you suggested tomorrow. Fingers crossed that helps as the wife and I have the same phone, so I could try her phone also.

    Thank you for the ideas!

I see that option in my phone.. i did play around with it as I was thinking on those lines that maybe it was using the phone mic. I guess it could be a phone issue also.. I'll try the wife's phone tomorrow.

    Thank you!

There is an option for adjusting the mic sensitivity from your end. When you’re on a Bluetooth call, look at the screen and there’s a setting button. Look for something called the Transmit Volume or something along those lines. Mine was defaulted on high, but I turned it down halfway and my wife on the other end said it was much better. Much less background/white noise

I think on this gen, when you pair the phone, you basically pair the phone. Its an interesting point though. I think, that depending on how you answer your phone, it may use a different type of speaker/mic. If you use the steering wheel, it might answer with the trucks audio system. If you answer using your phone, it may use your phone mic, so if you answer and drop your phone in the cup holder, that could be why. Seems this may be a system option on the phone. Meaning, using the mic/speaker depending on how you answer the phone as well. Something else to try. One other thing to try would be plugging into the Apple carplay/Android auto system and see if that works.

Itsmerh85 hit the nail on the head, it was as simple as the out going mic volume..it was picking up all of the background noise. I turned it down as suggested and now MUCH better!

Thanks for all of the suggestions!!!
