Blower motor Resistor swap out

My ac makes dull squeak every time i turn it on. About 1/6th of the time it wont blow til ive been driving about 10 minutes. Seems like I might have a ac blower/resistor problem from what I've read. (I'm not mechanical at all so please bear w me)

I can easily find a blower. Anybody know where to get the resistor??? Maybe I don't know what I'm looking for... thanks

 

I haven’t looked for a Toyota one, but they were available at any auto parts house for my old Silverado.

 

Thought the resistor was in the fan speed selector switch but not certain.

Recently replaced blower/motor assembly. Fan was not working at all. I was able to measure dc volts at the fan harness. Voltage was incremental from about 1.5 to 12 volts when changing blower speeds low to high.

If voltage present, would say bad blower/motor. A squeak or noise may suggest worn bearings as well.

 

Typically if the resistor is bad it won't work on any speed but high. Yours sounds like a blower motor problem.
