This is my first post. Thank you for letting me join the group. I have a 2022 tundra blower motor running loudly but very little air coming out of the vents. Truck interior does heat up but previously owned Toyotas had lots of air out of the vents. Would anyone be able to comment about this? Thanks.

When's the last time you changed the cabin filter? Perhaps it's clogged up and not able to pull enough air.

Also check to see if alot of air is coming out of your rear vents for the back seat. The vents for my rear seat crank while my dashboard vents just blow a mild amount.

    BTW, welcome to the site.

I'm not a Gen III owner but have some thoughts on your issue. You aren't the only one having a lack of warm air coming from the dash vents. I wonder if this is by design to keep drivers from getting drowsy due to warm air in the face.
    Just a thought...

This is a known issue, and one of my biggest complaints of these trucks. It's sad to see so many things overlooked to push a truck out to production...

Back in the days before electronic control of simple tasks, if you wanted hot air to come out of the dash vents, you turned on the a/c with the temp control full hot and the fan at max. I have always viewed the dash vents as for a/c except on the sides to defrost the windows, and that flow isn’t that big. Heat goes to the foot well and the windshield, so the way it works is way I have always seen it work, it’s just that to do requires multiple pushes of the mode switch to get to the right icon showing the split between the feet and the windshield, when a simple of a lever worked in the past. Something I call useless automation.

The cabin air filter is perfectly clean. I appreciate all the thoughts. My 2019 tundra blew lots of air. I’ll check the back vents today. I really appreciate the quick responses from all of you

I just started having this issue. I hear a blowing whistle noise from the dash somewhere. I had lots of air blow thru the vents last month with no whistling noise. I hear the whistling noise when I close off the rear vents.

Also, why does the air continue to blew when it's off?

I had an appointment at Lithia Toyota in Abilene, TX this morning to have the blower and heat repaired. Very little heat blowing out of the vents. So here is what Lithia Toyota in Abilene, TX said.

"Good morning Mr.Miller - this is Jacob - Just FYI I talked to my shop foreman about your concern and he said that is normal for the Tundra's. There is no fix for the weak force of air coming thru the vents when the heater is on. We had another Tundra here yesterday with the same concern. I just didn't want you to drop your truck off for something we cannot fix."

For those of you who are reading this, I would like your thoughts. By the way, this is a 2022 Toyota Tundra Limited. Thanks, Tom.

It's strange to me when I first started using my heater this winter. It was blowing string and not blowing whistling sound from somewhere on the passenger side. Since it's making they noise is when I notice it not blowing strong. So, toyota tell me how it did blow strong and now it's not???

Run it in Auto until you get to the temp you want then kick it back to manual to maintain the already warm/cool vehicle

Try opening all your vents and listen for the whistle . If it stops start , Start closing one at a time . My drivers side upper left vent will whistle when closed . Like it’s not sealing .

I just purchased a 2025 Limited. I have the same problem. Right after 1k miles my Blower started getting louder. It sounds like I have a 1990 mini fridge running inside. I took it to the dealership and of course it was not making any noise….. dealership checked it out and said they didn’t see anything wrong but ordered a new blower and will replace for the peace of mind. All covered by warranty. Also, I get little air from front A/c vents up front and a crap load of air in the back! Is that normal???

Good for you. I have 37,000 miles. Lithia in Abilene can't or won't fix mine. They claim it's not repairable. Would you keep us posted? About the crap load of air in the back...I get little in front and back.

My 2024 does the same damn thing. Drives me nuts. It’s so freaking loud like it’s all coming out of the defrost or the dash.
    I think it’s normal

My 2007 Tundra limited didn't have this problem. My 2019 Tundra didn't. It's pitiful for two of us old people to live with it. It's cold here and I don't like the fact that she has to freeze. I can live with it but for her...this is not good.

I have the same issue with weak air flow and a whistle. From what I have seen, the only time the air makes the whistle is when the duct are setup to blow out of the defrost or floor vents. If the dash vents are on, then there is no whistle. As for the weak flow I'm going to try to shut off the rear vents (move air flow direction to the far left or right i think?) maybe it will allow more pressure/flow up front.
From a heating point this truck seems to be very cold blooded and takes a while to heat up. I wonder if there is logic in the heating system to not allow hot air to the heater core until the motor come up to heat. My truck does heat up faster if I'm on the highway vs on back roads when started from a cold state.

Brought it to my dealer last week for same issue, thought it was my truck, but nope they confirmed with Toyota directly that blocking the heat output of the front vents is by design. If you set mode to front vents and fan to full, and set temp to HI you get no air out front vents, but if you just lower the temp to LO you'll get cold air fine. HVAC system is purposefully blocking the heated air for some reason, dealer had no idea why. Only recourse they said is to call Toyota and complain, and maybe if enough people did they'd change it with a software update, but I'm not holding my breath...

Just picked up my truck from the dealership after replacing the blower. The noise is gone!!! Hopefully it stays that way. I also feel better air flow through my front vents.

My 2002 Runner & 1999 Land Cruiser blow twice as hard from the front vents compared to my 2022 Platinum. I complained early on & was told that there is no issues.
    Known issue, no fix.

My 1920 model T blows three times as hard as my 2025 Tundra. They need to recall this problem.
