Anyone know location of block grounds on 2010? Replaced starter. Just clicks. Bench test says starter good. Battery has 12.7v. Hot to starter is 12.4 static. Waiting on wife to wake up to test voltage when start circuit energized. When I turn key solenoid clicks. So makes me think relay is fine but has to be wiring issue. Truck isn't salty. So confusing why I'd have ground issue. Ground on trans looks fine.

Are you using a voltmeter or test light? A voltmeter will measure voltage through horse piss. A test light needs current to illuminate.

Updates. Test light shows no current on starter hot. I ran a lead from battery to starter hot and it powers. Is the wire from battery to starter always hot? I've tested everything I can think of and all roads lead to that wire isn't feeding power to starter. There's no visible damage anywhere. But I am not sure how it comes from battery to starter. Main loom looks like it's a straight shot. I'd thought it would be fused. But I pulled the big 30 and still has voltage. Any ideas are appreciated.

    Alot of them
Regardless of the voltage, how old is the battery?

After talking to a couple mechanic friends think solution is run new wire from battery to starter. Said fusable link may have crapped out.

    Yes.
Make sure all grounds are good. Don't be afraid to add or check ground block to frame. Any good bolt from engine is
good, not required to be specific location. Just make sure grounds are good.

Removed and cleaned every ground on the front that I could find.

Perhaps new solenoid isn't functioning properly? Sticking? Old fashioned, ( I hate to even recommend this ) but
tapping with hammer lightly on solenoid might release a stuck spring. Just a couple of taps. IF it doesn't work
it probably wouldn't have ever worked but 'hail mary'? can't hurt to try.

So weird that solenoid was only thing working. Only way I could get correct function was to run a hot wire from battery to starter. Something in wiring from starter to battery is wrong. But easier to run new wire than fight the loom.

Solution for those that come in the future with issue. Battery connection for starter at battery was corroded and wasn't carrying current. I took apart cleaned everything then reconnected. Works great. Prob was issue from before but now we have new starter. Some take aways that may help someone down the rd. Prob would check that connection first if you have starter issue. Just in case. Was easy. Ratchet wrenches. Really would help. If your truck isn't from a rust state or isn't rusty I'd pull the manifold. It really wasn't a bad job. Tried it without first. But it was such a headache. No room to work on it.

Yup, no one mentioned battery terminals. I missed that. Should have mentioned it. I'm a battery/wire nerd. I rebuilt all of mine myself.
Glad it turned into a cheap fix.
