    Hello all,

Due to this forum I decided to get my oil tested at my last oil change. I got the results today and was wondering how they compare to others? The magnesium, Phosphorus and Zinc were all elevated. What would cause this? Anyone else have something similar on a 2014 with 120k?

It’s just the additive pack for whatever brand oil you use. Those are to prevent/minimize engine wear. The old days people would use massive amounts of zinc in the oil to protect cams and lifters.

Never having done an oil analysis, don't the ask what type and brand of oil you use?

Just the type I think. Maybe I just didn't provide them enough info. Put down 0w-20 just not the brand.
