I'll try to keep it fairly short, but basically didnt find any aftermarket foglights which suited my fancy. I wanted a blacked-out look with yellow light (NO LAMINX!), and LED is all the rage, so why not.

I found some 3.5" Morimoto projector fogs a while back and picked them up with the knowledge they were too small for any hope of plug-n-play love. They have a yellow projector lens in the black housing/surround.

Finally dawned on me that I could probably use the factory fog light blanks (on vehicles not specd with fog lights) as a custom mount and ordered them up.

Took a 3 1/4" hole saw to seat the fog housing nicely, and used the bracket which came with the morimotos as a template to drill the bolt holes. I removed a couple little plastic tabs from the bracket so it would sit flush for marking the hole locations.

Used 8, black M8 machine screws with nylocks and 1" nylon spacers to get the lights securely mounted to the blanks.

Soldered and heat shrinked new AMP connectors to the foglights and the truck side harnesses.

Definitely dig the blacked-out look to go along with the morimoto headlights I installed a couple months back. The factory fogs just looked horrible with the bluish tinge of the DRLs and mainbeams. Always loved the contrast of HIDs or LEDs with yellow fogs and am excited to see the results after sundown. I'll try to grab some decent pics as well.

Oh yeah. Looking fresh with proper night vision.

I must do the fog light mod to activate with the parking, mains and highs. Soon enough.

Thank you. I like the idea that i may be the only one with this set up.

Also noticed that the shape of the projector lens looks like a yellow "T" One for Toyota. One for Tundra.

Thanks. Was a fun little project that went really smoothly (for once). They are basically held in place the same way as the factory fogs, so I dont foresee any issues losing them on a rough trail. Will update if I do run into a problem.

Didnt have all the same shorter/proper length machine screws, so a couple are longer. Extra credit for those who spotted it.

Still have yet to source an extra fog relay to modify, but Ill get to it eventually. I think I'll like the yellows with DRLs look

    Fun beam-on-wall

Great fully custom work. I love stuff like this. Can’t always buy what you want, so make it work. Great job.

Yep. Would have easily pulled the trigger on some "bolt on" option, but just couldn't find it. Took a bit longer to make this happen, though it's much more gratifying this way.

Had a gentleman comment the other day about the sharpness of my truck... Then asked if it was "the hybrid". Nope. Just a 10y/o truck with fancy headlights.
