I have a good excuse to upgrade stock radio now. That amp is worth about $150 give or take. 300W is more than enough for me. I guess I need to start researching a good replacement head unit.

Alpine and Kenwood are certainly worth checking out. Stock radio/stereo certainly leaves a lot to be desired.

Those are two of the brands I'm looking at. Either of you guys know anything about Pioneer?

I personally prefer Clarion. Although I haven't changed my head unit since 2010 and with the way things change clarion could be bottom of the barrel now!

I'm back from totally off the grid. I'll post some pics. Too tired to do anything right now. By the way, I averaged 13.4 mpg. STT Pro's not too noisy. Definitely a very very good off road tire.

I've been sick the last couple of days. Guess I over did it. My new neighbor down in Ft Garland was bragging up his new set of Boristar MT tires on his 87 Jeep truck. I've never heard of Boristar. I'm thinking of Chinese origin.

    Wondering where you were.

By any chance were you out by the property over Independence Day?

I was indeed at my property. Stayed a week. Working vacation. Put up 290ft of barb wire fence. Lots of fun. Going back down in a couple of weeks or so to just fish and have some brewkies.

I do believe we seen you on our way home from South fork at a gas station. Truck looked similar to yours.

Get some good work done out there? Any off-roading?

I usually stop at Colo City on my way down (and back) just off I-25 south of Pueblo to top off tank and let fido stretch her legs. Spent most of the time working on the fencing and hand digging a bunch of dirt to improve a spring melt run off erosion issue. Lots of fun. ( I drank a ton of beer)

Nope, was not you. There is a guy running around southern Colorado with a truck just like yours....seriously. Same color, flare, brush guard, and topper.

Glad you got some good times at the property. Pictures are great!

I did get gas in Alamosa at Safeway on the 3rd. Had to make a Walmart run to get some mulch. Hell of a lot of big ass RVs on highway 160.

Then it was you. I was coming off highway 160 and going northbound to get away from all the craziness.

You should have stopped for a few minutes. Lots of craziness for sure. 160 is very busy during the summer. Going back down first weekend in August:mudding:

    Found this on Craig's :http://denver.craigslist.org/pts/5624117282.html
What caught my curiosity is that the seller went from a perfectly good Tundra transfer case to a Sequoia transfer case. Anyone know anything about the Sequoia TXFR case and is there something better with it compared to the Tundra version?

I might have mentioned earlier that my local Gander Mt is closing to relocate to a better spot. Yuuuge discounts (get used to someone saying yuuuge I'm thinking) Cleaned up this morning:

I might have also mentioned that Sports Authority is going under. Bought this Mossberg Maverick 88 for 40% off: $150 + $10 for improved choke tube. Oh, sock was $2.
I've got a vintage Rem 870 Wing Express that I've owned since 1972 in perfect condition. Maverick 88 will be my "I don't give a rat's ass what I use for shotgun".

By the way, I'll be going up to Mammoth Gulch/Apex/James Peak area tomorrow to do some 4 wheeling and target shooting in case any of you CO boys are in that area. Try to keep up. Don't like slackers.:infantry::mudding:

yep bank account is running low from it..
If anything its power transfer front vs rear in power %.. Example tundra does 60/40 power where the sequoia might do 70/30.. in turn if you want more power up front the change would be needed do to different power gearing.. its a guess but i bet im right...

Sequoia t-case has AWD, in addition to 4hi, 4lo, and 2wd. A lot of work, but way cool. Supercharged AWD Tundra?...way, way cool.(they exist).

I was considering playing Pokemon Go yesterday then I realized I actually have not only a life but also a Tundra: Here are a few pics from my friends property above (way above) Central City off Apex Valley Rd, then on up over Elk Park Rd to Kingston Peak 4WD route, Pisgah Lake area, then down Mammoth Gulch, and on over to the Moffet Tunnel,East portal.

20160717_112353.jpg One of the bazillion claims (called patents in CO) never worked. 1870's, These holes are all over the place. they had to be 10' X 10' give or take. US Gov surreptitiously "acquired" most of the unclaimed, expired patents here in CO over the last several years.

20160717_115916.jpgSay hello to my little friends. I also came across a new gen FJ and a lifted 90 Cherokee up here. I got a lot of surprised WTF looks when they came across me. heh heh. The route itself is not what I would call technically difficult but it can get real dicey in some places for a full size truck. You WILL get scratches. A lift is a must.
20160717_120608.jpg Very very nice view. A little hazy with all the fires.

20160717_120814.jpg Zero rubbing. OME suspension just fine. I beat the crap out of my truck yesterday no problems, just a lot of new scratches.
