Hey folks, it's ya boy DarkMint back again with a "what is this thing" thread.
I noticed a small puddle of water under my truck the other day. Traced the source back to a dripping black rubber nozzle/vent/nipple thing under the hood, passenger side, next to the transmission dipstick.
This thing is slowly dripping water constantly. I left it dripping overnight with a bottle under the truck and it dripped a bit over a tablespoon of water, so it's definitely a slow drip, but is constant.
What the heck am I looking at? Is this water drip expected?

Every Tundra has a little penis. Its hidden for shame. Once in a while if you run your AC your truck gets cold and has to pee.

Is that really all it is, just shameful peepee?

Are there any known mods to re-route it?
Why does this peepee drip down onto some steel parts?

@DarkMint you can slip a straw inside there and let it drain completely if its leaving puddles of H2o in your passengers floor area.
If you find it does, just puff a little compressed air into the end to clear the clog and you should be good to roll.
As long as its leaving water outside the truck its doing its job

Copy that. It just seems bad to drain this water all over the parts underneath it. Unless it's harmless and I'm being paranoid about rust issues. Coming from the firearms world rust is a constant battle so I may be overthinking this little truck water issue.

It should be fine. It's mostly condensating as you're driving, therefore drying itself off.

Gotta be a really small mouse. The inner diameter is maybe 5mm.

Well now I gotta go pop the hood and see if I have a tiny penis. I had a mouse in my truck a while back. Maybe he chewed my penis off and crawled inside.

I wouldn't be concerned. Every tundra has this, I've seen a good number of tundras where rodents made a mess of the engine bay but have yet to see one chew their way in. There are several other rubber grommets from the engine bay to the cab much bigger than this one.

I just pulled a dead one from my cabin air filter a week ago. Still working on getting the smell out.

That's incredible to think about. Depends on size and species I'm sure.

First gen doesn't have a cabin filter. Checkmate!

I've owned my Tundra since 08 and its penis is intact, never a sign of rodent invasion. Always parked outside and has been parked in fields and camp grounds lots of times.

Is it wrong that I fill my water bottle from the condensation tube runoff when I’m running low on drinking water?
