2021 CrewMax 4x4 TRD Off Road-Hey all, first post, but the reads have been very helpful so far. Got some Bilstein 5100 struts for the front, had it in the dealership for something else & asked if they could do the install while it was there. Going to do the middle setting on the 5100’s for a level stance. They came back with a response of needing to also order a differential drop kit and also needing to PERMANENTLY DISCONNECT MY CRUISE CONTROL AND PRECOLLISION SYSTEM! Anyone ever heard of this? I haven’t seen anything posted about it, and I’ve seen a couple posts stating that the differential drop kit is not necessary if you aren’t doing the top setting on the 5100’s. Just want to be informed before I search out another installer.

BS on the TSS stuff. Plenty of folks run lifts with TSS equipped trucks. As long as there is some rake it can work. Sometimes the system needs to be recalibrated, but that seems rare and it is done by the dealer. My guess is your dealer does not have much experience with lifts considering the recommendations.

Diff drop not needed with about 2 inches of lift, mid setting on 5100s. The TRD Pros are 2 inches higher stock and do not use any special UCA or a diff drop.

I went middle setting on 5100's (1.57") and I've not had any TSS issues. No re-calibration was needed either. Also, I did not do a differential drop. I've heard, and I'm sure someone on here can confirm or deny, that the TRD Pro doesn't have a differential drop and it's probably closer to a 2" lift over stock.

Thanks very much for the confirmation! Good to know about the slight rake on the lift. I think it will be pretty close to level on the middle setting, if not just a slight rake forward. I was debating between mid and top notch on the 5100’s but I don’t want to risk being nose high if that means recalibrating the TSS.

34k miles on my lifted 18 and my TSS system functions perfectly. Go somewhere else.

You'll have a noticeable but slight rake at the middle setting. When you haul moderately heavy, the truck will sit dead-level.

Great post & topic! I was wondering the same thing about my truck regarding the TSS and diff drop.

I have the TRD Off Road package on my 2021 Limited. I ordered a full set of the Bilstein 5100s. I also picked up some 2020black TRD Pro 18" take off wheels with a barely used set of BF Goodrich KO2 285/65r18 E rated tires I plan put on.

I was thinking that I would go with the middle setting on the front 5100s and no extra lift to the rear to get the whole truck level.....and that I would not need a diff drop kit. I ordered a diff drop kit just in case but I really do not want to install it if it isn't needed. I'm assuming I will need an alignment once the shocks are installed.

My TRD Pro wheels didn't come with TPMS so I was wondering if I need to order those too or if i could reuse the ones on my 18" TRD Off road alloy wheels.

tpms can be set, rough country makes a kit. Also i have 6112 set at 1.9 in front, did diff drop and SPC upper control arms. Rear plus 1 on shackle. Truck looks level but has 1 inch of rake. Everything works perfect. i went overkill because i will go with fox 2.5 when i can get them.
