    Hello all,

just as the title says, do you have KO3’s? Experience with them? Would recommend?

My wife needs new tires and she likes these, but I’ve heard mixed reviews on balancing issues.

    thanks again in advance!

Just put a set on my 4Runner last week. Drives and rides great, no regrets. Not cheap though! Yokohama A/T XD on the Tundra, also very pleased six months later.

I just got LT285/65R20 KO3s about 1000 miles ago. They balanced fine and I’ve had my truck up to about 80 mph with no issues. They’re E rated truck tires and ride that way, but they’re still pretty smooth on the road. My wife didn’t complain about it riding worse so it must not be.

Update: balanced out really well and road force was low. Drives smooth, I was honestly surprised. Thanks again for the help!

KO3's are great on Tundra, no more balance issues to rain issues.

But they're not great for SUV's, way to heavy, if you intend to put them on a SUV

I always go about 12 under max. in good dry weather. About 38-44 in the winter depending on precipitation type

I was shocked how well they ride. Very quiet, actually quieter than our Toyos. Looking forward to see how they do in the rain. The tech said they balanced really well, not much weight or road force.

I put KO2's on my Trailpsort and it was absolute hell to balance them. They look great but wife hated the ride. So I had to pull them out and sale them on marketplace. They only had 5000 miles on them.

Me too, coming from the KO2's. The KO3 design is a killer for sure. Smooth as butter. Now time will tell how they run after 10, 20, 30, 40K miles?

I’m hoping the tread warranty they go past. I’ve read some get 60-65 k so far. They were super expensive, but seem like very quality. The ride is nice and squishy for a LT tire.

Another satisfied K03 customer here. Run them on my 2025 Tundra Limited and am quite pleased. Balanced better than the K02s I ran on our Sequoia and recently did a 1,000 mile round trip to Boise. No issues up to 90 MPH and managed 20 MPG there and 19 on the way back.

I saw your other thread about the Nitto terra grappler G3 you have on your Tundra. Let us know how the Nitto G3 compare to the BFG KO3 on your wife's 4runner. The KO3 was one of my choices but they only have F load in the size I want so I decided to go with the Nitto G3.

I’m waiting to see some of the reviews when folks start getting 20k to 30k miles on them and see how they do in the rain.

For me the 2 KO2 sets I had I loved but once they got halfway worn were downright scary.

From what I’ve heard from friends, most really like the KO3s so far. I’ve got one friend that is a professional fishing guide and he’s already put 15k on a set on his 3/4 ton. He likes them so far and he was not a fan of the ko2.

I have a set of 285/75/16s in E range and I'm pretty satisfied with them coming from the KO2 equivalent. I used balancing beads this time and haven't had any issues. We'll be putting a set on at least the rear of our 2500 Duramax soon.

I have gotten stuck in a muddy forest road with them, but it was midnight and they were at 40 PSI. Limited wet and snow experience with them, but otherwise they met my experience on a 2,000+ mile trip across the Southwest that was a decent mix of road/ off-road.

My biggest thing I had trouble with on KO2s was the sidewalls, so hopefully I don't have the same issues with these.

We ran it up to 75mph the other day and smooth as butter. I couldn’t agree more! It’s been great. It seems like they fixed a lot of the issues. Wet traction is surprisingly good too!

So far rain traction for the KO3 has been very good and I live in the PNW. I never had the KO2. Great handling and I guess per the tech who installed them, they have full depth locking sipes. He said the warranty was 50 k cause it’s a LT tire but many people get 55-65 out of them if properly cared for and rotated.

For sure, I have Toyo Open Country AT3 on my tundra and she had grapplers and punctured a side wall and she wanted something more beefy, so went with ko3 for their three ply sidewall.

To compare them, the Nitto was quieter at lower speeds. On the freeway they both are about the same for quiet. I would say the standard load for the nittos were more squishy than the ko3. I think the handling is about the same. Overall very similar tires. The Nitto is a 70 k warranty tire cause we had standard load. Ko3 is 50 k warranty.

I am surprised how well the LT E range rides for the ko3. It’s almost the same as the standard load Nitto. Both are great tires. The ko3 feels more planted. Overall both are great tires. Side wall protection is obviously not as good as the others. We think she punctured it on the nittos hitting a Pot hole. Overall both good tires.

I am a big fan of the Ko3 and anything Toyo or Nitto. The Toyos ride softer than all of them, but the loudest of all, even in standard load.

I would honestly say, if you don’t need LT waiting for the SL version of KO3 will be out later this year I read. But for a LT tire, it’s almost the same as the SL Nitto, which shocked me.

if I had to choose to do it all over again, I would actually toss my Toyos and get KO3s. It just feels like a more capable tire. The ride is extremely good for such a heavy tire. Handling is great.

the Nitto road more like a highway tire. But honestly, it depends on what you do. I think all are great tires and you really can’t go wrong.

You can tell when they made the KO3 they put a lot of R and D into it. No balance issues, very smooth.

Nitto tire felt like an upgraded Toyo tire. But was impressed with how quiet it is for a AT.

Yeah, I put 265/70 17's on my 4Runner and they are E rated, but damn, smooth like the factory P Bridgestones for sure. Maybe even better! Money well spent!
