I'm on my 3rd set of BFG K02's in 10 years. The first two sets were great. This last set has a manufacturing defect where the sidewall separates from the tread, it's happened twice in the last 12 months on two different tires with less than 15,000 miles. both times it happened the same way, driving down the highway and the tread completely separates from the sidewall. It's dangerous at highway speeds!

I was okay, thanks. I was in the right hand lane 1/2 mile from my exit on the highway. Glad that was the case since I could pull over fairly quick and put the flashers on, waited for roadside assistance. I've probably changed 100 tires in my day, when it's 40 degrees and raining I'm happy to wait for help ;)
How, need to figure out which tires to replace them with...Costco has Michelin LTX M/S2

I’ve used BFG KOs for years and never heard of this issue. Pretty crazy, would like to hear what BFG says.

Interesting. Talked to BFG this morning, they stated that since Discount Tire replaced the tire under their warranty program, which was the warranty certificate for road hazard replacement that I purchased, there isn't any issue with the tires. The agent asked what was the point of my call, because she didn't see any issue since the tires had been replaced. Having used K0's for 10 years and I'm on my 3rd set, I'm expressed that I'm not satisfied with or feel safe on this last set. The agent talked to management and finally agreed they will do a goodwill claim. If I buy 4 new tires, get them installed at Discount and stay with BGF or Michelin, they will do up to a 20% credit. They were not concerned at all about the two blown tires in 12 months.

What was the date code and country of origin on those blown tires? Always inflated properly?

Yeah... either go K03's or jump brands. I was very disappointed with the K02's of late. If you are looking at Costco check out the Firestone Destination AT's or XT's. The AT is a highway style all terrain (I currently have them since my truck has been a commuter as of late and I've been extremely impressed) and the XT is more off road style all terrain (deeper tread and looks more aggressive compared to their AT) and it will be in my consideration for my next tire. The Firestone AT's where almost half the cost of the K02's and so far have been completely worth it to me, i have almost 30k miles on the Firestone's.

Curious about age as well. I've had "new" tires installed that were 6 years old and that's a lot of sitting around.

BFG used to be the shit. Ive run a bunch of their AT and MT tires. Last set, many years ago was on my 4runner, tires hit half tread and got so slick in wet they were unsafe.
There are much better tires available now at same or lesser cost. I would not run BFG today.

I wouldn’t buy Goodyear for sure. The “ultra-squirm” comment is 100% my experience also. I’ve never had a Goodyear tire I liked on a truck.

Not sure if this is a mistake but BFGgoodrich is owned by Michelin, not Goodyear.

It was a mistake, also reading another thread about some Nokian Outpost issues that led to an unfortunate Goodyear purchase that I was referencing.

The Outposts are well reviewed, but apparently made in Russian factories. Some supply issues due to the current "situation". Another member had an issue replacing one.

Yikes... that looks like it'd be a adrenalizing issue!
Go find yourself some Toyo AT3's and aside from the problems you've experienced will soon notice that BFG's are hot garbage. There isn't even one circumstance through true 4-season Canadian roads where i found the modern version of BFG's to be better in.
For context i've ran Goodyear Duratracs, BFG AT Ko2's and the Toyo AT3s.

I'm quite curious to know this. I put on a new set of BFG KO2's on our old F-150 about a year and a half ago. They have less than 2,000 miles on them, if that.

The Outpost AT WAS made in Russia before the Ukraine war. The outpost nAt (‘n’ standing for North America) is made domestically in their new facility in Dayton, Tennessee. Part of the supply issue I had was due to transitioning all production to that one facility, requiring longer tim s between batches. They had ramped up production of snow tires and weren’t scheduled to make my size nAT for several more weeks. But Nokian made it right and located a tire that my local DT could not and sent it post haste. I still think very highly if tires and even more so of Nokian due to how they dealt with the problem.
