Looking at two 5.7 crewmaxs. Trying to decide which is the better value. Will be used to run errands around town and pull a double axle trailer a few times in the summer.

    1. 2008, SR5, leather and front bench. RWD. 98k for $20,000
    2. 2014, limited. 4x4. 135k for $24,000

We have three kids but may have a fourth so the bench is appealing if we need it—though we do have a family van for road trips. So it’s not a must have.

Will likely put on 2-4k miles a year.

    Both are super clean.

If you had to pick, which would you get and why?

Thanks. Good point on resale value and age of components. I do most routine maintenance myself on my current vehicles, except timing belts and major maintenance. But I imagine I could have a few more issues on an ‘08 body.

I don’t intend to sell, but given that I drive 2-4k miles a year, I imagine if I did sell, I’d get a better resale value on the ‘14 4x4. Even though I don’t plan or want to use the truck in a condition where I would need it.
