Hey guys. mostly a lurker here. usually working on my daughters 4 runner. But time to do some work on my 2011 4wd Tundra. just over 200k. still on original factory suspension. running 18" goodrich KO2s. (I know boring) Dont want anything crazy. maybe a 2 to 3 inch lift in the back about 1 to 2 in the front. Used mostly on the road. a few rough unpaved just a little mud. Towing a boat a good bit. Any suggestions for this boring old man?

Why so much lift in the back? Usually the back sits up a few inches higher than the front as it is.

Set it and forget it? I'd go with OME.

Every time I see a Tundra or Tacoma (I own one of each) that has been tastefully lifted and had tires and wheels fitted to complement the "look", I get to feeling like you do now. I start shopping, compiling a list, watch you tube videos and ........... Then, I'm reminded, both trucks have given me trouble free miles in the "stock" configuration. (both forums are full of posts related to drivability issues after suspension mods) Then I send them off to the detailer and admire how nice they look when he's done. Then I take the bride out for a steak dinner with the money I saved LOL

Eibach coilovers/rear shocks and shackle lift in the rear. Rides well and mildly priced.

This is exactly what I have aside from the shackles, PO put 1” block in but I’ll replace it one day. X200 for Eibach kit though!

Personally I would consider airbags and call it a day. I am one of those, (contrary to most) that also believes in leaving the original engineering in place. I prefer function and practicality over fashion. The KO2's for me are the perfect adjunct IMO. You can't change physics and raising the height on a vehicle for on the road only lessens the drivability on ice, snow and rain. Widening the tires only exacerbates that. JMHOYMMV.

I have Firestone airbags if the ass ever drops. I also have factory rake with only a 2" lift in the front and the 1" block in the back. The PO did the block, I would have done a shackle that could allow a little more articulation albeit very minimal.
The factory rake is only to assume you'll never install airbags to assist with a load, only reason for rake. Many US vehicles are also 'lowered' slightly from the factory to concede with stringent rollover laws. Example: I forget what year, but JEEP actually lowered the seat height in the TJ Wranglers for this rollover crap. The end product was a LCG but a lot of people could not see over the wheel. Choose your poison. I see nothing wrong with very moderate changes. In the VW world, we used to call it stock plus :) and that's my favorite style as well. Keeping it closer to factory than not is my jam too but when you have a tired old suspension and you can upgrade springs and shocks, why not order them to be level..
