Anyone have any suggestions for tires right now?

my two best sources locally said the 38x13.50x20 Toyo Open Country or Nitto Trail Grapplers are not available with no expected ETA.

Also looked at 40’s but none available either.

My 2013 CM. Has a 12” Bulletproof lift. Running 38’s right now and was told it had 40’s at one point. A little worried about fitment and gearing if I go with 40’s. Not sure if the truck has been regeared previously.

Wow! That's a lot of tire hanging off 5 lugs. After looking at this tread I went online and bought Bfg KO2 35x12.5R 20 to replace my Nitto RG with 10k on them. Your right larger tires are harder to find.

Yeah, I have discount tire looking at the moment. There just isn’t much available for these bigger tires.

I wouldn’t be opposed to going with the Baja Boss MT’s. The only size they have in 38’s is the 38x15.50R20. I’m not sure what width wheel I have, so what would going from a 13.5 to 15.5 do?

Just gonna throw this one in, but I got my 37s through Walmart lmao. Got them in like 3 or 4 days, and cost was honestly close to pre-covid pricing (might have just been luck). Not sure on 38s and 40s but no harm in checking there too.

    I’ll check, I’ve tried 4 - 6 sources so far.

I have seen some 37’s in stock, but 38’s already look small on this truck.

You could adjust your caster more positive, which moves the wheel forward, but then you'd end up rubbing the bumper. It's easier and cheaper to trim the bumper than it is to BMC.

Getting desperate fellas. Front tires, especially drivers side, is getting below wear indicators. They’re 6 years old. The rears are 2 years old and have some life. I’ll probably keep those as backups.

anyone know where some used 38/13.5R20 Toyo Open Country’s might be to just to get me by?

This is where I go for cheap tires - they're used but you can find a lot of great deals.

Thanks. I ended up finding some 38/13.50R20 Maxxis Razr MT tires at simpletire.com. They were the only tires in that size I could find. Came in today and will be on the truck Friday.

4 ply, huh? Man there really isn’t a consensus on that debate. I’m inclined to trust your judgment. Figured for the type of wheeling you’re doing it would be 10 ply for sure.

It’s more of an experiment for me. 10 ply sucks when you really need traction to crawl up something. It’s like mountain climbing with boxing gloves. I want tires to wrap around and actually grab hold. I ordered these tires several weeks ago but they’re on back order
