I recently debadged my '03 because I absolutely despise badges lol.
I tried everything to get rid of the ghost marks just to find out that most of the adhesive left scrathes. I don't want badges, but the look better than the ghost lettering
So, where can I get decent, cheap, black emblems for the truck? I'd need the SR5, iForce 4.7, 4x4 and the various TUNDRA emblems. I've looked on Amazon and can only find them for the newer 5.7. Thanks in advance

Do you still have the original badges you took off? If so, a rattle can will turn them black.

Also, a quick buff/polish of those areas might eliminate the ghost lettering.

https://www.toyotapartsprime.com/ has a ton of genuine OEM Toyota parts and accessories at really good deals. I like buying from them because their prices are cheaper than dealers and they have a lot of hard to find factory Toyota parts. Check them out.

No:frusty: a couple of them broke when removing them so I just chunked all of them. And I've tried polishing after using a buffing compound and it cleaned it up well enough to see that some of the scratches are through the paint :( So, I just want to get some black emblems as close to OEM as possible.

I guess I'll just look around and try to find some on there. There's no way I'm spending 250 on badges, especially since I'd still have to paint them and everything too :(

Yeah OP, unless you got rid of the glue with steel wool you should be able to get it looking right. Just takes some patience and elbow grease. Another 1st gen member put badges from a new Tundra on his truck and it looked really good.

I removed it with a 3M eraser wheel, the only problem is that some scratches weren't just on the surface
Also, I've thought about doing the newer style badges, I just don't know if they'd go over where the old ones were to hide the scratches.

Can you post some pics of the scratches? Unless they are huge I really think the new badges will cover them.

Yeah, once I go home I will. I think they'll cover them up ok, I'm just OCD. Honestly I want to paint the freaking thing because it has a lot of tiny imperfections, but oh well:annoyed:
I think I just need to convince my wife to let me buy a '19 and I'll be good

My old badges are yours if you pay shipping. If you’re interested, send me a PM. You can now have a limited instead of a SR5.
