Great Googly Moogly another Project 86 fan in the HOUSE!!!!!
Did you get in on any of the preorders for their final album?

That is a great line. Though oddly enough one of my favorite quotes comes from an intro to Chimes (their greatest song of their greatest album DBL) Andrew gave at a concert and not an actual lyric. Would be awesome if it could become a lyric on their final album.

“I think that when those dark voices start calling our name in the back of our head we need to remind those voices who we belong to!”
    Andrew Schwab - Project 86

    Sorry for the slight drift.
    Congrats on the pay off!

Well, wife and I both knew that we'd have secure jobs (wife works healthcare; I work civil service IT), and we were housebound for almost 2 years (and still are for part of the time), so I told her I'd throw as much $ as I could at the truck per month.

Now the ACTUAL mods begin. In the works:

    - 2-3" lift
    - new tires/rims
    - Katzkin seats
    - probably exterior dechrome

So today I find out they had a preorder for their final album. :( When was this? I guess I totally missed it.

    And thanks! LOL

Final album is crowd funded and been going for a few months. No worries they are still funding it so you are not too late.

Yeah, ordered all those, sweatshirts, the book. Spent way too much money (not really). Been rocking with the since day pretty much day one 25 years ago. Even though Drawing Black Lines is 20 years old and none of their albums have even come close to that one. They are still one of my favorite bands.

I dunno. Their first album has a special place in my heart simply because P.O.D. guests on one of their tracks; and "When Darkness Reigns" is pretty sweet as well. But you're right - there was a HUGE difference quality and content-wise between their first album and DBL. I kinda go back and forth between the two.

Matt, what an awesome feeling. I worked really hard to pay off my truck as well, I think it took about 2.5 yrs but felt so good when I got that title in hand. After that my next obsession was my house, paid off 2 weeks ago 9 years early almost to the day. Now, more money for truck mods!

I mean, I feel like a SC might be an acceptable substitute...but you're right, every 'best mod ever' thread I've ever seen shows the payoff paperwork. :D

Always nice! Only have one auto payment, but only because it's 0% interest so I'll pay them in future money.

When my unit got back from Iraq a lot of the guys used the money that they squirreled away for a bunch of down payments on new toys. One section in particular had 11 bankruptcies and 9 divorces happening within two years. It takes discipline and fore site to do what you did. WTG.

Well, I’m doing it now because I’m 45 and smarter than I was when I was in. I never made any big mistakes but yeah there were a few times when I was down to $100 or so in my account.

My first car in the military was that well known total chick magnet…a 1994 Saturn SL2.

Paid off in 2 is badass. Now the real fun starts. Im hoping for a 36 month payoff myself. Love that saturn, I had a gutted out 93 SL1 rally car.

In truth it wasn't too hard; I work IT (civil service) and wife WFH full time, and we've always tried to live such that we can make it on one income if need be. As such, while I won't say our second income is completely disposable, were one of us to lose our jobs, we'd simply have to cut a few things, stop going out to eat as much, etc.

And since you couldn't do most of that crap anyways for the first 6 months of 2020, I just threw like $2K-$3K/month at the truck, and doubled up on most of the rest of the payments. :)
