    Flux capacitor!
I'm installing a bunch of exterior lights and I'm trying to decide on my best location to tie in my power? So I've already installed my lights and soldiers my extension wires from them into the hood compartment area for future power. I've also already installed my switches in the cab area as well. I did ordered a 100 amp eight circuit fuse distribution block to help simplify all the separate fuses for each light into one location under the hood. I also have all the relays as well. So my biggest Dilema is should I run the power to the distribution from somehwere other than the battery so my switch lights aren't always draining my battery. I have looked into the spod system for all of this but I'm not a big fan of the $350-$700 price tag pending on which unit. I appreciate any help or suggestions!

I ran an add-a-tap to one of the circuits on the interior box on my Tacoma. I do not remember exactly which one I used but it was one that was only hot with the key on.

This is the proper way to do it. alternatively you can connect the switch lighting to the power outlets in the cab (cigarette lighter).

Thanks for the help guys. I'm going to run my Distribution block power wire direct off the battery and just run the wire for switch lighting off an accessory wire inside the cab. Then I will still be able to use my lighting if my truck is off.
