I am new to the group and need some expert advice. I am replacing the alternator on my 2003 Tundra 4.7. I cannot get the tensioner to move at all. Any one have some good advice?

Are you rotating the correct direction? It goes the opposite of what you may expect.

Also worth mentioning if you haven't messed with belt tensioners before and are using small-ish hand tools, the springs can be pretty stiff inside them.

Totally. Those Mountain wrenches dude is using are the same ones I have. I wouldn't attempt this job without using at least an 18" breaker bar for leverage.

I changed my tensioner out with stubby wrenches. My poor princess hands were in rough shape afterwards.
