bed cover is iced shut

With the temp dipping below zero and snow, the bed cover is iced shut.
What would you use to keep to minimize that? I must've tried a low grade silicon on my other car which turned yellow with low temp and didn't do much.

 

Do your doors still open when this happens?

What kind of bed cover? My work pickup has a diamondback. You can use a coat of paste wax which may or may not work, or I just slide a small screwdriver in between the rubber seal and the bend and slide it to break the ice bond.

 

No.. the hard cover is iced over the gate so can't open gate or hardcover.. If you mean the cabin doors, yes they open.

 

It is the Toyota OEM which has soft rubber lip which is easy to freeze but terrible to release. My 2020 F150 Plat had the the bakflip which had a round thick lip over the tailgate so it was easy to get a sharp object and release it..

My friend uses mechanic grease on his old truck and it works but messy.
