on my 2010 tundra I had on each side, elongated imperfections in the upper bed side. Same place on my 2017 but only on the passenger side. Is bed bounce still a thing?, or am I a victim of careless DumbAssity (not a mark or scratch)

I believe bed bounce is just that. I think some of it is frame flex. If you look underneath, the Tundra bed is hard mounted to the frame. No big rubber isolators like the cab has. Cab has these for noise, vibration and flex. If you look at any of the pics of the rear bumper I made, I was able to tuck in in very tight to the body because the bed is hard mounted. Just my thoughts.

Thanks, I've already viewed your build, it's a favorite of mine. Now I will go and look deeper. It's suspicious to me because of the exact positioning of the 10' coupled with the 38gal tank on this one. That makes me think it's a lopsided affect. I have on a couple of occasions noticed it in rear view

I'm a victim of bed bounce too, added coach shackles but they didn't do much for me.

can you guys explain what you are talking about?
"elongated imperfections in the upper bed side" ???? how can you see this?

how do you know or feel the bed bounce? In my Tacoma if I drive at certain speed on some (jagged?) dirt roads, the bed kind of bounces a little and moves from side to side fishtailing ... i have to either go faster or slow down to stop it. If the bed is empty and/or tires have high(er) pressure it can contribute as well, but that's off road ... is that what you are talking about? it doesn't happen on paved roads.

haven't noticed anything with the Tundra on paved roads!

    Thanks

You can actually see the bed bouncing in the rearview, you can make that noise with your voice that kids do when they go over bumpy roads. Primarily happens on concrete roads, sometimes it gives me a headache

Thanks for the video and the info, This is not the slight fishtailing in 2WD that i was talking about on some dirt roads ...
I will never try the video even with a rental car! I actually treat the rental cars like my own. lol
not sure how fast they were driving but that is some nasty road & abuse! Forget the bed bounce, I will be concerned about the alignment, balance and damage to the shocks, tires, etc. You guys must do serious off roading ...

Hmm, if you draw a vertical line at the front edge of the wheel well and 4" down from the top of the bed that's where the wrinkle is. I've tried taking a pic but it doesn't come out

image.jpg Soo, I got this from Amazon yesterday and started out experimenting on the fridge and my daughters car. It works pretty good. You have to be patient and know that your not going to get it the first time
