So...don't want to get into the discussion good vs bad, etc. I might ask that later on.

I am working with a local custom shop that is going to install a 3" BDS coilover lift kit, along with 285/75-18 tires for my 2012 SR5.

This was 2 1/2 months ago. They tell me BDS is backordered but that BDS doesn't say when it will arrive. The local shop keeps saying give it another few weeks.

I've tried calling and emailing BDS with no luck.

Any suggestions or information? If they are that backed up, fine.

I guess I have been looking forward to this "upgrade" and am getting a bit impatient.

    Thanks

This is from the country still feeling the effects of covid and the lock down. Alot of stuff has been back ordered or the manufacturing times have increased on certain items. I've bought skids and bumpers this past year and waiting is all part of the game. If the shop is telling you to wait more then you clearly have two... maybe three options. First is wait:), second is try calling BDS yourself and third is forget BDS and probably spend more money on another brand. Best of luck with whatever you decide.... we as Americans seem to suffer from a patience issue.

    TX,

Thanks. I understand. I am sure things are delayed. I just kind of thought that BDS would be able to tell the shop "three months," "four," etc.

It sounds like you ordered the same or similar kit that I did. I spoke with Nathan and Josh at BDS and the Fox coilovers have been back ordered, but supposedly getting a shipment from Fox this month.

I never got a definitive answer on shipping from BDS to me, but it was implied that it would be days after their shipment from Fox arrived.

Covid has had a huge impact on parts, manufacturing and shipping. MANY vendors are experiencing significant delays. In many cases, they will not be able to give firm estimates on ordered purchases.

I sell boats/ATVs, and it is the same for our industry. There are some major parts supply issues and manufacturing time is 2-3x longer than normal. Add in low overall stock and extended build times (because most manufacturers use Lean Sigma processes- just in time ordering of supplies to avoid storing parts and materials) and you have some long wait times for pretty much everything.
