    Hello everyone,

I’ve been having a lot of issues here lately. It all started with my battery not charging while driving, falling below 9v. I had the alternator and battery tested. They were both bad and replaced. I put in a 150 amp alternator. I was also having issues with not being able to shift out of park, dash lights on (see picture), no blinkers, and no power to part of the interior furs box (see picture) I have gone through everything through everything that I can think of. Also the alternator is only putting out about 12.2v. If you have any ideas, o have gone through the same issues, please let me know what’s going on.

Replace the 7.5A AM1 fuse, it is in line with the ignition circuit and relay when the key is on. If it is bad power will never make it to all the fuses in your red box.

The alternator is not charging and the blinkers are not working because the 7.5A LH-IG fuse is not getting power. It is the "ignition signal" to the turn on the voltage regulator and allow the truck to charge when running.

A new 7.5A AM1 fuse will probably fix all of your problems. Pull it out, visually inspect it, and then replace it with a new one, even if it doesn't look fully burned out/blown.

I have checked all the grounds and replaced the fuse in the AM-1 slot and it’s still doing the same thing. Any other ideas? I read something g about the battery bulb having an affect with it also. Is it supposed to glow white when the key is in ACC or red. Mine is white.

Did you study the fuse box cover and layout of the box to make sure it was the AM-1 fuse? Have you checked this fuse for power using a multimeter?

Yes I’m positive it was the correct fuse. I also checked it with my multimeter and it was getting power to both sides of the fuse before and after I changed it.

Then you most likely have a bad ignition switch or a break in the wiring somewhere. Are you pretty goo with a volt meter?

Yes I am. The only thing that’s killing me is that I don’t know how to read a wiring diagram. Me and wiring are not friends. That’s why I have been having trouble with this problem.

I changed out the ignition switch and it didn’t change anything. I’m still getting low charge to the battery, no turn signals and it won’t come out of park.

So, I finally got my truck up and running. Took it to a shop and turns out it was a bad fuse box. $1500 to replace it. $1100 for the part and $400 in labor.
