Wanted to give a shout-out to James Randy Taylor. I wanted a little more oomph from the bass from my jbl system although I know the rest isn’t great.
I went with his basic jbl sub swap. Hardest part was getting the wiring hooked up with such short stock wiring. Took about 30 min.

When he says this makes twice as much bass, he means it. This is how the jbl system should have sounded from the start. Really makes me want to start upgrading all the other components.
For those looking for a bit more bass without spending a bunch. Look no further.

I am about to pull the trigger on that setup. Did you have to do anything to the factory wiring to make it fit since it is short?

    Thanks

No, it was just a pain to try and get the wires to the terminals. You could extend them to make it easier I suppose.

I had the same issue with the short factory wire. Such a pain and I loaned my soldering iron to my son-in-law.IMG-1401.jpg

I would have soldered the connections within the box between the two subs.
