    PXL_20201127_215050328.jpgJust bought a 2021 base sr5 tundra for reference.

    Firstquestion:
The factory 255's came with michelin LTX 2's on them that I want to save. They are only 20mm smaller than the worn 275's on the TRD wheel. Will I be okay remounting the factory 255's on the TRD wheel? I don't see why they wouldn't fit. I was just wondering if someone else has done the same thing trying to save money.

    Second question:
Do I need factory TPMS installed or can I get away with something aftermarket?

    TPMS can be aftermarket.

    Welcome, nice color Tundra.

1st question: Yes, you can use those tires.
2nd question: The TPMS sensors from the steel wheel are different than the alloy wheels. But yes it's ok to use aftermarket sensors.

If I've followed other threads on this forum correctly, SOME aftermarket TPMS sensors are OK, but not ALL aftermarket TPMS are OK. one of the threads had part numbers posted after the OP had problems with tire shop supplied TPMS's.

You'll also need new lug nuts for the alloy wheels if they didn't come with them.

I have the original lugs for the TRD wheels. I'll look further into the TPMS before I install this weekend. Found a local shop that will transfer the basically new tires from wheel to wheel.

I was in the same situation - truck came stock with steel wheels and the 255 tire. I purchased a set of the TRD wheels and lugs and had my original tires mounted on the TRD wheels. The tire shop was able to take my TPMS from the steel wheels and mount them in the TRD wheels - I think they have to turn them 180 degrees to get them to fit. America's Tire knew exactly what needed to be done to make them work. I tried to sell or give away my steel wheels, but had no takers. Ended up taking them to a recycling center and cashed them in.

I used the same wheels. Had them powder coated though and slapped on some eBay TRD center caps.
