I bought this one from B&W. Awesome hitch, but a little pricey compared to a fixed dropped ball mount.

I got it from Amazon last March for around $220. Three different size balls, adjustable, stow position, etc. Only complaint is the 3 pins they use.....2 for the height adjustment and 1 for rotating the ball. The pins use clips to secure them and there is nothing stopping someone from stealing the pins. I ordered 3 extra pins just in case, but have not needed them yet. As long as you use a locking main pin on the receiver no one can steal the hitch, but the pins are my worry, not that they would do someone any good, but ya never know.

    Here are the specs:
    • Fits standard 2" receiver hitch
    • Drop of 5 inches / Rise position is 5-1/2"
    • Eliminates the need for multiple ball mounts
    • Equipped with 2" ball and 2-5/16" ball
    • 10,000 gross trailer weight rating / 1,000 tongue weight rating

I'm just looking for something general purpose, nothing fancy, or something I have top worry about being stolen. No lift on the truck, 20" wheels.

You’re going to want to figure out the drop or rise you need so that your trailer sits level.
Depending on the tongue weight and how much it’s going to make your truck squat needs to be a factor. You could just pick up a simple Reese hitch or something along those lines. Make sure the rating on it exceeds the trailer weight as well as the ball you’re going to use.
You could get a 1” to 2” drop hitch and possibly even need to flip it over to get a rise for your trailer.

I've got the B&W as well. Buy once, cry once. It has been awesome. I don't leave it in unless I'm towing. It would be pretty easy for someone to help themselves.

Gen y hitch, awesome product, USA made and customer service is top notch. Plus they have a lot of accessories you can add to it like a weight distribution kit if you tow a camper.

Stumbled across these that are designed to replace the pins with keyed alike ones

Thanks! That's EXACTLY what I was looking for. Have you used these yourself? I'm going to measure the pins and make sure they will work. If they measure up correctly I'm going to order a set real soon!

No I have not tried these or in fact had the opportunity to tow with my truck yet. Friday will be one week since I got it. Those say they are specifically for B&W hitches.

Just got a Reese 3” drop from Wally World to use on Sunday. Cost me $25. Typically I only have a hitch cover installed. For locking hitch pin I use this from Amazon. Long enough for the tundra hitch receiver. My old locking pin was just a hair too short.

Also if you get a longer locking hitch pin and get some rattle, I goto autozone and buy a little pack of thick O-rings. Slide a couple on either side to soften the blow.

Yeah, I did see they where they specifically mentioned fitting B&W, so there shouldn't be any issues.

I picked up these class iv mount and ball from Amazon. I had a couple class 3 but plan to rent a trailer and bobcat that pushes over 7000lb so this gives me more capacity than my class three and didn't break the bank. They have different drops if you plan to lift a bit.

Just something to consider if want a cheaper option that covers more capacity than class 3
