I have 275/70/18 Ridge grapplers mounted on Fuel wheels. I’ve had them balanced twice.
I would say 75 percent of the time I have no issues. But, on the same two stretches of road and occasionally out of the blue I get a steering wheel wobble.
I cannot figure out why it would only happen on a certain piece of road and only 1/4 of the time??

The guy at Discount claims he sees a lot of Tundras with aftermarket wheels that are hard to balance and he believes it’s because they are 5 lug and it’s not enough for the size of the truck. I think that seems like a stretch. Also, to my knowledge the Fuels are hub centric for the Tundra.

    Any ideas?

I had XD Monsters with Nitto Trail Grapplers... Zero balance issues. As you know I now have FN BFD's with Coopers.. No issues. Discount is usually pretty good. Definitely a stretch. Bet that Discount tech drives a RAM..

Morning flat spot? Is it happening at a certain speed? Are these 2 roads smooth or rough?

Did you try road force balance? I don't do that anymore unless I have balance issues but can make all the difference..

From what I understand the discount uses a road force piece of equipment?

Depends. You usually need to specify road force.

Good question. One stretch is concrete and the other is black top. I’ve been trying to track and it seems it’s in the 50-60 mph range. But, it doesnt always happen in that range.
I will say I had Black Rhino wheels and do not remember having the issue. Actually went with less offset based on your recommendation Joon. I’m happy with the offset.
This isn’t something I feel like I want to deal with and I’m wondering what my next step should be?

How about swap the front and the rear to see if they behave the same way?

I had same issue until the fourth time of taking it they said it was two defective tires so they gave me full credit for 2 and I purchased a set of toyo at2s instead

Get it road forced balanced. That should solve it.

Went to Discount. The Fuel wheel is hub centric on the Tundra. They looked at my wheels and said they need to be balanced from the front?? Or with a cone? They said it was really the only way to balance Lexus/Toyota’s.
They also said they road force balanced and all 4 were perfect. I had one front wheel that needed 1.75 ounces after balancing a different way.
So far it seems the wobble in the steering wheel is gone.
