I have seen a few other posting about this too but I made this video a while ago and finally had time to put it together. Just in case others out there are on the market and is considering covers, highly recommend the BAKFlip MX4 compared to the retractable ones. When I was on the market, I noticed that there were a few different types of MX4 models for the 3rd gen Tundra on YouTube. I noticed some differences in the mounting and drain tubes. I guess mines is the "newer" one? There was no video that I saw which resembled mines so it was a interesting install. Nevertheless, great product and a 10/10!

I am in the opposite camp. My Tundra came with the Toyota OEM which is a Backflip and I prefer the retractables like I had on my Tacoma. They are much easier to operate and have locking intermediate positions that make them far more versatile. And they don't block the rear window when fully open.

I have the Revolver. Best topper I have ever owned. If you are looking for a 2 state topper (fully covered, fully open bed) it's the best compromise.

Put a revolver on last week after having a backflip. Both are great, I am really liking the revolver though

I'm on the fence with these. My 2023 has the tri-fold (toyota brand I believe) and my new 2024 Platinum has the Retrax basic rollup (MX I believe). The Tri-fold is very sturdy and can support some weight if needed. The downside is when you want to access the entire opening you need to flip up to the cab or remove. The Retrax feels very flimsy. Small slates and it does not retract all that easy.

I was going to replace the basic Retrax I have with the Retrax Pro T-rail version. Now not so sure.
