So I wanted to share this with anyone interested in getting the Amp Research Bed Extender Max and had a tonneau cover. Specifically the Bakflip G2. I'm not one to give reviews, but considering the fact that I searched the forum for anyone with said combo, I figured I would share. If there is, my apologies for a repeat topic.

Though I like the fact that the Toyota bed extender has hardware that required no drilling, I don't like the "V" shape which doesn't allow you to utilize the entire space of the tailgate.

    Installation:
Installation was not too bad. I did have to go off track with the installation instructions do to the fact that the factory bed liner was cut poorly from the factory around the tailgate area. I had to measure a few times to make sure both sides were even in regards to height, as well as depth so it wouldn't interfere with the tailgate when closing.

    Thoughts:
Overall, I'm diggin' the looks of the Amp extender. Unfortunately for my case, I need to slide my Rocky Mountain bike mounts that I have on the bed rails out of the way to flip the extender onto the bed. Anyone who has this mount knows you need to bust out the torx bit to loosen them. I can live with that though. Here are some pics installed. 2fd314d0648222765fd68416d1d1defb_e08a4df51088fe0bec5cc1a4c5c562d7b8842ebf.jpg

Toyota also made a Bed Extender with U shape. This is what I got for my Tundra.

Will this fit the 14+? I didn't realize I could have just bought this for my 16!!! I hate the V-shape ones.

Nice! I like the U shape of the AmpRe more than V shape of the Toyota. They both require drilling. I don't what hardware Toyota has that doesn't require drilling. I looked up the instructions on the PT932-34000 (V-shaped) and it requires drilling.

This model is Pre- 2012. Starting 2012, Toyota went to the V-Shape ones because of some new state laws stating that the Extender must not interfere or cover any Rear Brake Light.

The only difference is the brackets. The Extender is made by AMP for Toyota. See picture. Per the instruction "NO DRILLING REQUIRED". Remove the Tie Down bolt and Bolt on to the existing bed bracket.

I installed an extender for my 16 and I did NOT drill any holes. It just used 2 bolts from the tie down like David posted above.

That looks like the same bracket as mine 16.

Olathe Toyota looked up the no drill replacement brackets and PN is PT392-34145-SB. But they said there's a stop order by Toyota so they can't placed the order. It would've been $18+.

Just order my AMP HD Max extender. Tealky want to max the space capacity vs Toyotas pt392-34000. There's a Visa $50 card rebate going on right now. Autoanything has free shipping. Any tips on drilling with the bedliner on?

I just ordered the Toyota no drill brackets from LUND (Amp research parent co.) for $14.75 each. I emailed the Amp tech support. So I will wait for that to install with my Amp Bed Extender HD Max. Once I get the PN I'll pass the info on.

Amp PNs are 10-3313x-92 where x is L or R. One for each side brackets.

Okay, so looked at your pics and you managed to do exactly what I want to do. However, I have called both Amp and Lund, and both reps I talked to had absolutely no idea what I was talking about. In fact the Amp guy said they don't make any no drill brackets for Tundras at all. So, I'm hoping you can provide me with step by step directions on how you managed to get those brackets, and Lund part numbers if you know them. I have my HD Max sitting all lonely in my garage and it needs to be installed! Thanks.

The AMP is truly U shaped (when viewed from above), the 2007-2011 extender (fits as well) is more angles in, then there's almost V shaped.image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpg

    huh? what u asking?

Reason i am asking is someone is selling an OEM extender but doesnt have the brackets. also did you have to call to order those brackets on your invoice?

Ok, makes sense since u got it second hand.

I ordered it through AMP research. The invoice will help them get the exact same order. Another member tried to order and the sales rep wasn't sure about the item until they looked up the invoice. Goid luck.
