I had a truxedo truxsport on my 2020 CM that was very functional, I just thought it was kind of ugly how it came up a few inches. I always said on my next truck I'm getting something that is more flush to give it a cleaner look.

My 2024 CM SR5 TRD Sport is set to be deliverd to dealer in the next few weeks. Found a great deal on FB for a new, in-box Bak revolver x4s. I know I want a roll cover, my only hesitation is that it's a "hard-top".

In my old truxsport, when my trunk would get very full, I was still able to fit some things in it that poked up on the vinyl covering (think coming home for Christmas, with all the xtra gifts, handlebars on my kids trikes would be poking at the vinyl).

I assume the bak revolver x4s has no give vs a simarly vinyl soft top cover? I know it will check the box for a clean look but wondering if I should go with a soft top Lo Pro / Pro x15 (what's the difference between these two) just for added convience for longer family trips (stuffing in beach chairs on top of everything, etc).

The X4s will give a bit, essentially the clips that normally lock into the rail will close outside of the rail allowing a bit of give.

I've got one on my Tacoma from back when I bought the truck in 2017. It won't close if you've got things poking up like you describe.

I’ve got one. It has give- tested while camping.

I had a Revolver X4 on my F150 for about 6 years, and just ordered an X4S for my new Tundra. The slats are aluminum. So while there is a little bit of give, it’s not much. And you’ll know which ones are not able to go all the way down as the side seals on those slats will have a gap when you latch the cover down.
