Got a 2016 tundra crewmax 4x4 with 50k miles on it about 3weeks ago. Noticed at dealership fog light was out but they fixed it before we left. Days later I changed a burnt license plate light. Few more days later I had to change the driver side head light. (Low beam element burnt). Once I had the grill off and head lights out, I noticed my side markers had lights in them but burnt bulbs. So after all is said and done, I’m 5 burnt bulbs on a two year old truck. All are fine now but only been it about a week. Is this typical for tundras or Toyota? I have a 7 year old truck sitting next to it in driveway I haven’t change a single bulb on. Thanks for the help!

Not typical in my experiences, no. I would suggest having the battery load tested, ensure that the battery terminals are clean of any corrosion, and are tight, including the body ground cable. Also, the alternator output should be checked to make sure the charging voltage is not exceeding 14.5V. All these items I mentioned can cause poor bulb life, and are easy to check or have checked.

My ‘16 has 46k miles and I’ve only had the driver’s side taillight go out.

As for the problems you are experiencing with the lamps, I would expect they’re not OEM equipment. Lots of people replace the lamps and lots of people have problems that follow. Some replacements are good but not all of them.
