Was hauling some old rug to the dump yesterday and had about every fiber from the rugs sweep through the cab when I opened up the back window lol.Anyone else having debris from the bed enter into the cab with the back window dow? Guessing the only fix for this would be a bed cover?

Sure that happens, even on the earlier gens with roll down back glass. Keep the window closed when hauling stuff like that, anything that can move and get lifted by the air at speed. 4Runner is the same, dont haul a trailer full of mulch with back glass down unless you want some of the fine particles in the interior.

I believe it was Sweers who swore that this wouldn't happen on the Gen 3 due to the shape of the roof, 3rd brake light assembly and tailgate.

That sucks, I have this issue on my older Titan with the big roll down window, and was looking forward to the Gen 3 solving the issue.

Older gen truck's owner manuals specifically say not to drive with the rear window down. Bunch of fun haters. I'd check your manual to see if it says the same.

Literally every truck does this, it is not a Tundra thing. You get strange swirling wind in the back of a pickup. Just keep the window closed when hauling. At least you weren't hauling mulch when you figured it out like I did on my old Ford.

The bed creates a vortex and will cause small fibers to be carried back inside when your rear window is down. Note the blue "vortex" behind the cab in the image below.

The fix? Don't drive with your rear window down when you're hauling stuff with fine debris: sand, dirt, mulch, yard clippings, and...old rugs, apparently.

Not really "strange" as it's just aerodynamics. Basically like the image below shows. It is a swirl in the bed once momentum is established and it creates a "bubble" in the bed that air flows over. Everything in the bed is in a round and round little swirl and if you open a window...

Yeah, just like they will show it pulling a 5th wheel and then have disclaimers that you should never exceed payload or tow ratings. His job is to sell the truck.

    Yep. Leaves

there is a free vacuum place by my gym. Once a week or so I swing by there and vacuum out my bed and hood cowl.

Yes, I know....but what really chaps my hide is how specifically he mentions this issue and that it's definitely resolved.

I mean, I've seen S-10's with a 5th wheel hitch...I guess if a 5th wheel trailer was very light, why not? But the bed vortex....ah hell, whatever!
