What would be a good offset and back spacing to go with on a 2017 tundra going with the icon 6speed wheels

The one that fits our bolt pattern has 25 mm offset according to Icon. That's actually a good offset.

Could I buy 1" wheel spacers and get the same offset for stock wheels? Are wheel spacers good or bad?

Yes. Most Tundra stock wheels are 60 mm offset wheels and 8 inches wide. The lower the offset, wheels are pushed out further. So 25 mm offset wheels will sit out about 1.6 inches further out that stock wheels. Then since the wheel you are look at is 1/2 inch wider than stock wheels, the outer edge of the wheel will be pushed out another 1/4 in.

1 inch is about 25.4 inches. So that will give you roughly 35 mm offset set-up. I personally don't like wheels spacers, but there are plenty of members using them without any issue.

How did you calculate your 1.6" and 1/4" estimations?

Sorry, I made an error (good catch). Factory offset is 60 mm and with 25 mm, the wheels sits 35 mm further out. (35 mm is about 1.4 inches, NOT 1.6).

With wider wheels, they are typically evenly distributed from the centerline. So if the wheel is 1/2 inch wider, then 1/4 will push the outer edge of the wheel out and 1/4 will push the inner edge in.

Typically most rubbing occurs with the outer edge with body mount and other parts (unless you go with very wide tires on factory wheels).

Wheel spacers have a bad reputation because amidst their peak popularity companies cheaped out and sold literal spacers that just sat between the hub and the wheel. This is incredibly dangerous.

However HUB CENTRIC spacers mount to the hub and have separate studs to mount your wheel onto. These are generally as safe as factory when installed correctly. No issues when I ran them on my Jeep before I got different wheels with a better offset.

If you elect to go spacers do not cheat out and go with Spidertrax or similar
