Well I just want to say hello and Im glad to be back in a Tundra. Traded my 14 DC in 2 yrs ago, wanting more room in the back seat and looked at other trucks. I settled for the 2021 Nissan Titan Pro 4X and after some hiccups, not wanting any more headaches and tired of several trips to the dealer and being left stranded, I decided to go back to a Tundra. Now I have a 2020 Crew Max SR5 XP MGM and no ore worries when I drive down the road. LoL.

Welcome back. Weird you had so many issues on the Titan. Pointless to worry about it now...:D

Not that I had so many. Only a few after the first year and less than 15k miles. I had safety 2 sensors that kept coming on and flashing all the time, which Nissan could not fix, replicate, diagnose, and then told me it was normal in climate weather due to ice, dew, moisture, rain, fog, snow, etc. Had the truck for over a year and no issues and no lights, and Nissan said it was normal. Their Safety Sense such as the AEB (automatic emergency braking), and RAB (rear automatic breaking). The electronic system went into system fault and the throttle body went. The transmission shifting was horrible under normal driving, I hated first gear, felt like it got hung up. But if you nailed the gas, the truck takes off and shifts smooth. The transmission seemed to have trouble deciding what gear it wanted to be in when slowing down and around turns and corners and shift roughly. Then when I was researching, turns out more and more people were having the same issues with other warning lights coming on etc. Not to mention some things I just didn't like about the Titan and there were some things I really liked about it. I had a 2004 previously and didn't have any issues. I could have just had that one bad apple. So basically I didn't want to be bothered with it anymore, was already disappointed and cut my losses.

Welcome back. Show off your new ride with some pics! Nissan's really gone downhill over the last decade or more.

No, it's not just you regarding the Titan.

I had a new 2017 and only satellite radio worked when I got it. A week in the shop, a bad harness, and I had AM/FM. I should have know this wasn't a good omen.

The transmission could rarely figure out the right gear to be in, but it worked great when your foot was in it. Every gear shift resulted in the tachometer bouncing up and down a few hundred rpms for a second or two. Firmware updates never resolved the issue.

The seat heaters worked when they wanted too, Nissan called them "good".

The vibration between 62-70 mph, which Nissan couldn't fix.

The engine knock that resulted in long blocks and then short blocks being replaced was the last straw. Nissan seemingly never figured out what the problem was.

Strangely I had a 2004 as well, it was never in the shop except for oil changes.

Although my specific issues were different, the overall experience was the same for me: stay the heck away from Nissan. Years ago we had a 2005 Pathfinder and the radiator/transmission cooler had a faulty seal that gave out, mixing coolant and transmission fluid all through the engine, transmission, and radiator. Nissan said I was juuuuust over the mileage at which they would perform the repairs, and I was out $4500 (and the mechanic was a friend who did a great job for a low price). Years later, not having learned my lesson, we bought a Versa with the garbage CVT transmission. Took it to the dealer for shuddering while accelerating and they told us it was normal and nothing was wrong! That car was way too young to need a new transmission, but of course it started going out and Nissan stonewalled me. I should have learned my lesson the first time. We've had our Tundra for 6 years now and it's been fantastic. Screw Nissan. I will shout it from the mountain tops until the day I die.

Welcome back! My biggest issue with my 21 CM is getting a rear pet seat cover big enough! LOL

Sorry you had issues with the Titan. If Toyota didn't offer a full size truck I might be driving one of those right now. My dad bought a new Frontier in 2020 and loves it - Work Trim extended cab, 4x4 paid around 26K before taxes right before prices went through the roof. Similar to the 2.5 gen Tundra, that was the last year of that Gen Frontier. I've driven it a few times and really like it as well. Feels like a tank of mid size trucks.

    All that said,

Did you find one that works well? I've considered picking one up, though I don't have a dog, several friends do!

Here’s the pic from the lot the evening before I purchased it. The thing had 4K miles on it when I called about it making sure it was still there. LoL. Was there the following morning and grabbed it.

While on the subject of Nissan Titans, I've owned a 2004 since brand new (CC 4x4, 5.6L), and it's been a fantastic truck. A couple of window-motor regulators, some exhaust work, brakes, tires, fluid changes...that's been it!

She's only got 130K on the clock, with just the slightest bit of rust showing around the rear fender wells. I'm gonna keep her, at least until I upgrade to a Tundra!

I hate to hear that Nissan quality has gone downhill. They use to be right there with Toyota and Honda, at least with reliable drivetrains and such...
