Had a slight leak with the stock gasket, couldn't really hear it but condensation would drip from it and gasket was toast when I installed my 8" system. As far as the resonator there's a video on Keith's site on how to mock it up, just leave enough room so it doesn't contact the bed/spare while driving rough roads etc

Mine is about an inch from the bed. It will make sense once you are under there.

If it fits fine and clears your spare you are fine. Don’t move it.

My concern is not having enough slant to not let water sit in resonator

How does the 6 inch ba muffler sound with resonator installed compared to 8 inch with out resonator?

Just a very slight slant is all that is needed.

The resonator is just to limit the drone inside the cab. It shouldn’t affect how loud it is outside. If it does it’s negligible.

The difference will be subtle. If you had a chance to compare back to back, you could hear it, but it's subtle. The 8 w/out resonator might have a somewhat deeper tone with normal driving, but obviously more drone at highway speeds.
