Gonna need new rear axle bearings. Right one is worse ... gets louder on a left curve. Left one might be okay, but I'm going to have both replaced anyway. Dealer says about $2K, parts and labor. Oof!

A little over 140K. I did overload the axle a little last year towing a Jeep 1200 miles for a friend. Had 4400# on the rear axle, weighed on a CAT scale.

I have just under 97K on my 2013 and have a groan but it might be tires.

$2k, no thank you. I assume you don't have any way of doing it yourself. I would call around since you're not broken on the side of the road. Off the top of my head I would say parts should be about $400 and if it took 4 hours for a mechanic to do I would be very surprised. I most likely would do it myself (since I have a hydraulic press which makes doing it very easy) but if I was paying someone else I would buy the parts myself so I could pick and choose the brands. A garage might charge a little more since they aren't making a profit on the parts but I would be ok with that. Still I would expect to be under $1000.

Side bearings 90366-A0020 are $56 from sparks. Then you'll need some seals and some labor to press them in. Maybe 2 or 3 hours per side, call it 6 hours labor at $75/hr should be roughly $450 then add the cost of parts.

I would never give stealerships a single penny. Call a reputable local gear shop.

I regular run this truck with 3900 lbs on the rear axle. I jump it and hit 3' whoops at 60 mph too. Bearings are a wear item, you got 140k out of them that pretty good

Yep had mine done last year at the stealership 2k + 250 for a new speed sensor
I’ve read here and elsewhere about horror stories about this job going bad that being said I wish I would’ve gone to a independent shop and saved a grand

This is why I hate stealerships. I just bought a set of 4 speed sensors from ebay for $36, install took 3 min per

I'm looking, believe me. Being in the boonies has it's advantages, but when it comes to things like reputable gear shops, well, I'm an hour from the nearest stealership, and at least two hours from any independent who's willing to tackle the job.

Woops!! Might have found my shop about 1/2 hour away. Just talked to him and going to drive into that town Thursday morning ....... they do RV and fleet work.

Number one, you're quoting price for differential bearings, not the axle bearings. Axle bearings run well over $300 each. Plus new seals, retainers, washers, O-rings. The bearings he's using are $565 each, marked up, surely, but that's expected.

I have a local doing the work this coming Thursday. The best truck/RV/fleet jobber in the area. Two year/24K warranty, parts and labor. 5 hours labor. $110/hr.

    $2165.

OEM numbers are 42450-0C011 and 42460-0C011, right and left respectively. He's using a different brand, I believe,

Yeah that's the bearing assembly. I gave you the part number for just bearing. A shop can press in just the bearing for much cheaper than buying the whole assembly

You're mistaken. There is no other option for the axle bearing. The entire assembly has to be replaced. And as I said, the part number you referred to is the differential bearing, not the axle bearing.
