Axe throwing

New place opened up near us, so the wife and went to check it out. Good time and you get to release some aggression. Anyone else visit a place? Thinking about joining their league

 

That looks like a lot of fun. There is a place here in Denver called Bad Axe and they do have a throwing league. I should ask some coworkers if they want to go sometime to check it out.

Being in the tree care industry for over twenty years, I have plenty of experience with an ax and would love to have this place near me. Unfortunately, I live in the authoritarian state of New Jersey where a person couldn’t get a business license and insurance would be unbelievably high for a business as such. I think it is really cool a place like this even exist. Have fun

 

Living in MA I know all about authoritarian states. This place was actually a gun shop until our AG pushed them out of business. They had to jump through a lot of hoops to open.

It’s in Agawam. Called Agawam Axe. About 5 miles down the road from 6 Flags.

 

I’m living in a logging town in rural oregon and at the annual loggers jamboree there’s an axe throwing contest.
I have thrown axes for years (btw, that’s just a little hatchet, in the op picture)
Anyhow, my point is that you don’t need a club or permission to throw an axe. Just get a nice size log butt elevated to height, and go for it.

 

I used to be into that when I was into muzzleloading. Going to the Rendezvous, they would have competitions. Some traditional archery shoots have them too. Been awhile for me but it’s a lot of fun. Brings back memories.

 

I grew up doing historical reenactment of different time frames with my parents, one of them was the whole 1840s Mountain Man stuff. Did a TON of hawk and knife throwing, and usually walked away with a pound or two of FF or FFF to use at the next Rendezvous. Took my Kentucky Valley flintlock on my last elk hunt, but didnt even see a damn elk.

 

I've only done at the Renaissance fair. Between this and the Jacobs ladder challenges I can get a decent buzz with just prize money.
