Current setup is a Kenwood DMX1037S and an Infinity Kappa 5 amp. Somewhere along the line I messed up the remote amp turn on wire. The amp features an "auto turn-on" feature which, "If your stereo does not have a "Remote Out" wire, you can set the amplifier to automatically turn on when it detects a speaker level signal on the input. If you are connecting a remote turn-on lead, the switch should be left in the "off" position."

Funny enough it seems to work for line-in as well but only detects the signal to turn on and stay on above a certain volume setting. If I turn the volume down but it's still audible eventually the amp turns off until I turn the volume back up.

I know the answer is to run a new remote turn-on wire but it's already snowing here and cold and I'd love to not pull the truck apart again. Does amp gain have any effect at the volume level at which the amp will turn on and stay on using the auto-on feature? When I set the gains, I actually had very little room to turn them up and currently have them all the way down to keep the protection circuitry from activating. I used a DD1 to set the gains. This made sense to me since the line-level is 4v output. I do have a little room to turn them up...anyone know if this help the amp "see" enough of a signal to stay on?

Yeah, I know, I'm going to be pulling the truck apart again.
