Why on earth does the truck start back up when you unbuckle your seatbelt. What's the rationale? You have obviously put the truck in park and are getting out, why on earth would you need or want the truck to start back up? what am I missing?

Auto start/stop seems to have a lot of funky interactions when putting it in park. One of the only reasons I turn it off every time I get in the truck.

start/stop only kills the engine and leaves the ignition and accessory circuits powered. I'm sure it was easier to program it this way then deal with educating angry owners with dead batteries that they still need to press the start/stop button when parking even if the engine is off.

    My goodness!

Would anyone else love to sit down with the engineering team that built this third Tundra and ask them WTF!

I don't find that hitting one button to turn the auto stop/start off, every time I start my truck, is a life changing inconvenience. I wish it would permanently stay off until I turn it back on, but so be it.

No, it’s not the end of the world, I was just trying to understand the logic behind the feature. Or lack thereof.

    LED headlamps/fogs; interior footlamps.
That's how all other autos with start-stop tech work - otherwise what is the On-Off for ....
