I have a question on the use of auto LSD (limited slip differential). I've watched a few youtube videos that basically say auto LSD is always active in 2WD and the auto LSD button simply turns off throttle management.

The manual that came with my 2020 truck implies that auto LSD is ONLY active when you push the auto LSD button....

    from page 318:

"The system can be used on 2WD models and in 2WD mode on 4WD models. The system is activated when driving at a speed under 62 mph (100 km/h). The AUTO LSD system will be activated with the following two procedures. Press the button briefly to turn on the system. The “AUTO LSD” indicator will come on."

Does anyone know the truth on this?

This, what your manual states, not what people state.

Oem tonneau, side steps, spray in liner. Trd skidplate.
And to add to the above, auto lsd only works in 2wd, will not work when 4x4 is engaged (iirc).

It has to be turned on.... Like your automatic transmission, you have to be operating the vehicle (on) for it to work. "Auto" in that same sense.

I’ll hop in with some possibly dumb questions. -When would one want to use this?
-Why not just use 4 High if one was concerned about losing traction?
    - does the speed cap of 62 suggest it is not intended to be used on freeways and many highways?

How do I get my back tires to lose traction? LSD light on or off?

I’ve tried hard to drift in the snow this year and I can figure out how to turn off the nannies.

Press and hold the Trac off button for 3-5 seconds. You'll see LSD on and VSC light light up. Then press and hold trac off for another 3-4 seconds. The Auto LSD light will turn off and the VSC and TRAC lights will both light up. Then you have no nannies.

You could turn on tow/haul-ass mode and prepare to pucker your butthole... :burnrubber:

3 second press on Auto LSD, followed by another 3 second press on Auto LSD, then short press on Tow/Haul.

By “turning off the Nannie’s” what is really being achieved?

Are 2nd gen’s an open diff or does it actually have an lsd?

No traction control so you can one wheel peel...Not a "real" LSD, but an electronic "try" at one...

limited slip but it uses TCS (brake applications) to control wheel spin.
At least that is my understanding, I'm probably wrong on this. When I romp the rowdy pedal it spins the passenger in a straight line, but it will send power to the wheel that grips and apply brake on the wheel that slips if I'm power sliding in the rain. Learned the quick way that this thing will cook rear brake pads if you drive it too hard.
