I spent way too long creating this DIY guide, but here’s an updated and very detailed guide to the original guide that was created 13 years ago by someone else on another forum. I’ve successfully made my own harness and wanted to share in the experience and knowledge I learned from it.

In summary, this is a step-by-step guide for creating your own wiring harness to have an auto headlamp control feature for older or base model trucks that didn’t come with the wiring required to get it to work. On that note, this still requires an auto headlamp steering switch assembly AND a light control sensor to be installed.

If there’s enough interest, I’d be happy to offer a service to create a harness for forum members. If you’re interested in the service, drop a comment and let me know. If enough people want one, I’ll offer a service in the marketplace.
