Hey guys I just got my 2020 platinum so it has the job speaker system in it and I am having the weirdest issue. I play a lot of audio books driving to and from work so this is a big deal to me and making listening to them unbearable. So when I’m playing the audiobooks, when the narrator is taking after s sounds and sometimes without, there is this almost whistling sound coming out of the speakers. I tried different books by different people and it’s the same. Never had this issue in my old car. It’s all I can focus on and can’t even listen to the books. I tried different cords and even downloaded audible on my fiancé’s phone and same issue. I brought her out to make sure I wasn’t going crazy and she heard it as well. Does anyone know what could be causing this as well as a solution?

I'm not sure what is causing your particular problem or if it's just a symptom of a bigger issue.....the atrocious "premium" JBL system. The JBL system in platinum tundras is absolutely terrible, the headunit sucks, the amp in anemic, and the speakers are sub par. For mostly audiobooks I would probably deal, but if you like to listen to music, at anything close to high quality....you need to at the very least replace the head unit. Or maybe keep the head unit but integrate a new amp using a Rockford dsr1. I'd just replace the head unit with something that had modern amenities. I wish I had a better, cheaper answer for you
