Going on one of the shop cars tomorrow. 8-Baja Designs Squadrons. 2 on the a-pillar, 2 on the bumper, 4 to replace the headlights. Then gold and silver dual rate springs. There's a pile of machined sway bar end links in there as well.

So, I'm finally going to get off my ass and get a helmet. I've been delaying because of past experiences with helmets, and the mistake of online ordering.

Last helmet I had was a Shark S700 Legion (loved the look and internal sun visor), but the shape was wrong for my fat head. Side to side was good, but my brow and the back of my head were pinched. I couldn't ride my motorcycle more than about 30 minutes before I had to stop and get that helmet off my head. That particular helmet was listed as being good for an intermediate oval head shape. By all descriptions of the head shapes that SHOULD be what I need, but maybe I need a long oval. In the end I wound up getting rid of the bike and the helmet.

Now that I am enjoying the SxS so much I feel like I need to get a helmet. It'd certainly be better on the brisk morning commute type rides like yesterday. 40* is damn cold at 55 MPH! Commuting in the RZR is making me kinda miss the bike, but I never did like the lean of a motorcycle, so I am toying with the idea of a Spyder. I know, I know. It's an abomination, it's not a bike, blah blah blah. If it'd let me take some long open top rides and road trips, then I don't care what the stigma is. That said, I am struggling a bit on the helmet choice and where to go to try and get to try them on. The closest city that will have shops with helmets is going to be SLC/Northern Utah. Anyone have recommendations?

TLDR: I need a helmet for my RZR and possibly serving double duty on a Spyder someday. Shit luck getting helmets or hats that fit means I need a place to try on lots of styles and types. Norther UT is the easiest region to get to and I need word of mouth suggestions on where to go for getting my fat head in a lot of different helmets.

Places I know about are Rocky Mountain ATV MC https://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/ and Cycle Gear https://www.cyclegear.com/

Anyone have experience with either, or other places to go?

Decided to move the A-Pillar lights to the bumper as they caused a lot of glare. Put 2 more squadron pros with them. was a total PITA to get 4 lights in a tight space perfectly symmetrical!

Finally got the last (yeah right) of the upgrades to the Grizz installed this weekend after a 3+ month wait for an HMF Titan QS series slip on exhaust.

The HMF exhaust really complimented the other upgrades well and together, supposedly adds a total of 4-6 horsepower. Who knows for sure, but it made me smile when I opened it up today.

    -EHS Racing EFI Controller
-EHS Racing Air Intake Box and Uni Filter Upgrade
    -EHS Racing Air Box Lid
-HMF Titan QS Series Slip on Exhaust

Phase 3 of the ham is complete! Got a bunch of parts in this week, painted them, and installed today. King Shocks fully worked from KDM, HCR arms, ZRP tie rods, Geiser radius rods, Rhino CVs, and a Smart Lok front diff to replace the open stock one. Oh and different mirrors :D got it aligned pretty well on a little test drive to the local dirt area, and already a noticeable difference from the stock non bypass shocks to the King's. Will take it somewhere tomorrow and really see how the 72" life is :D

I got my WCFAB front bumper with fairlead mount, their winch mount, and their sliders/kickers put on this week along with 30" Nitto Trail Grappler SxS tires. I'll get my Warn Axon 45-s slapped on this week once my busbar and keyed on relay come in.

Seems to be the case on just about everything. I'm doing my best to hold off the urge to scratch the itch for a sports car/motorcycle type of purchase as a result. Prices are unfriendly right now, and that's even at the volume sellers. Inventories are so low that the prices are being gouged on everything from ATV/SxS to cars/trucks, and motorcycles. I think I'll try to hold off for a couple years and just see if I can get some dual purpose gear for my SxS instead of a higher dollar item. Even the used market is kinda nuts.

@Thesandaddict do you guys sell tires, wheels, and such for the SxS's? I know you primarily focus on Can Am, but I want to get my RZR on the same size wheels and tires on all 4 corners. If I can support a forum member to do it, all the better.

I'm a ways off on this purchase as the stock tires are still in really good shape, but come spring/summer or '22 I might be looking.

We sell just about everything. Shoot me an email harley@fastlabco.com with what you're thinking and I'll see what I can do. We are dealers for a bunch of different manufacturers. We don't focus on can am, we actually got our start with yamahas, but we do em all.

For some reason that notification never made it to me, but hell yea man! Some suggestions I have from my limited time in the game and finding out the hard way:

-Cage is super weak, upgrade it ASAP. If you're spending any serious money on upgrades, do that first.
-The front suspension and shock mounts are NOT in double shear. There are brace kits you can get that bolt in. The brace kits are honestly pretty retarded, I'd be amazed if they do very much but I still did the full set to be safe. I have yet to go in and weld everything in, but that'd be the best option and then I could see them actually helping.
-This is a HUGE one and which I never saw mentioned anywhere until it happened to me: the gearbox in the back sits literally a quarter inch above the plastic skid. If you come down hard the skid comes up, boops the gearbox and cracks it. The "fix" is to add a brace above the skid, essentially double the skid up with a metal piece. I cut out a 1/4" aluminum skid on my plasma, but most places that offer aftermarket skids offer the braces. What's a bitch is the whole stock skid is riveted in. I went in this summer and drilled the rivets out and put rivnuts in (and then welded them in to be safe) so all the skids can be unbolted. You only need to brace the rear skid (the skids are broken into a main front one and a rear one) so there's a lot less rivets you have to drill out if you only want to do the brace. Point being, I would highly suggest doing this! If you're just doing the rear skid it'd be pretty quick, and it will save your gearbox getting cracked. Even after welding and JB welding my gearbox it still has a slight leak, and the only alternative is to buy an entirely new gearbox since can am doesn't sell just the case.
    -Harnesses obviously
-Air your tires down. Just like with full size vehicles, everyone seems to run way too high of pressure. I run 8psi in mine on everything. Plenty of float in the sand and lets the tire soak up small rocks and washboard on trails, only downside is the sidewall loses some stiffness but it's not bad.
-Ride height and suspension setup from the factory is totally wrong. Look around for either the "Fox tune" or just how to setup the stock shocks. My base model QS3 shocks felt pretty damn good, but I had to raise the ride height quite a bit and with the fancier RS shocks you have a lot of adjustability you can play with.
-Avoid instantly flooring from a stop, roll into the gas if you're stopped so the clutches can engage and not shock load the belt. Likewise use low range anytime you're going slow, usually you can carry a little momentum and it's fine. That has stopped me from ever blowing a belt (yet, knock on wood). Lots of people blow belts, I think lots of people drive like idiots and are always full throttle. You can be fast and smooth, or you can try and brute force things and not drive smart and not be as fast and then you break stuff.

That's the main things I would tweak as soon as possible. We did a single ride on the way home after picking ours up, and then adjusted the suspension and dropped tire pressure. Everything else was added in in phases, with most of that happening for the "phase 1" modifications which was safety and chassis upgrades. Otherwise you'll love it! We crossed 4000 miles on our machine a few weeks ago, which we got it used so is 2500+ miles we did in a little over a year. Never blown a belt, and aside from running into a G out at 40mph and bending an A arm, have never broken anything! Wife even rolled it doing a donut once! They're surprisingly harder little machines if you have a little sense and take care of it, and the can am drivetrain is super reliable.

Thank you so much for the info!!!! My wife and I have been riding quads for 25 years…. We also had a mid-travel buggy for a while… so the X3 is an entirely new ballgame. I’ve been watching and reading a ton on the X3….. Shock Therapy has a pretty decent video out called “A Trouble Free X3 “… they break down a “must do” list based on the size of your wallet…lol. Lots still to learn!!

Hell yea! If you need anything let me know, I live 45 minutes up the hill from Sand Hollow. I'm traveling for work most of this week, but will be at the takeover most of Saturday. There's also a local UTV shop maybe 2 miles down the road that are awesome you can go to if you have any issues.

I change my oil way too often, but it's easy and gives me piece of mind

If it's not a financial burden, there's not really any such thing as too often. Peace of mind is worth money too!

Compared to the cost of the RZR, an extra 50 bucks every few months is worth the piece of mind to me forsure!
