Looking for a new scope. There are plenty of great options out there, however I am specifically looking to see to who owns or has owned something from Athlon Optics. Bang for buck they look solid, I'd love some feedback from an owner.

Context: looking at this for a new 22

i have never owned an Athlon, but i've seen and used a bunch of them along with pretty every other scope brand (Zeiss, ZCO, NF, S&B, etc etc)

that one is most likely a china scope. which depending what you do with your 22 could work

in that price range (under $3k) i prefer Vortex because their warranty can't be topped by any other optics company

call Doug at CameralandNY and talk with him. he probably has better pricing too

i'd still recommend calling Doug for Athlon

Another happy Vortex customer here, but I've got family that's very happy with the Athlon Ares BTR 4.5-27 and the Athlon Cronus BTR 4.5-29.

I own an Athlon Helos BTR 1-4.5X 24. Works perfectly all the time. Clear glass, positive adjustments. Exactly what it needs to be for what it was designed. It was specifically designed for CMP and NRA service rifle matches and is perfect in that role. I like the reticle and have considered putting them on other rifles.
