    Hey all , just curious here , 2021 Crewmax Limited , 53k miles on it and the stock tires , which have performed great , are wearing thin. Time for a new set of tires and I am liking the Falkens. What do you guys think ? Love the aggressive look but how do they ride ? Do I need to worry about sidewall rating ? Discount Tire seems like the best place to get them but I live in the Northeast , it’s an online place right ? Reviews ? They are good ? I put on about 25k miles a year , no snow this year but who knows going forward? Thanks in advance !

    Falkens ride fine for an AT tire. Good road manners and the road noise isn't bad at all. Would consider getting a higher rated tire if you're going to use your truck offroad. Discount tire is also a brick and mortar retailer, don't have anything bad to say about them when it comes to mounting and balancing my wheels and tires on any of my vehicles.

    I just traded in my Wildpeaks last week. I put 70k trouble free miles on them.

    I probably could've put another 10k on them, but I have several long trips planned for this summer and didn't want to take a chance.

    The last 10k miles they were pretty loud.

    I got them at Discount Tire. I've had nothing but good experiences with Discount Tire.

    I replaced them with Yokohama A/T GO15's.

    I felt like a little less aggressive tire that is better in the rain would be a better choice for me. So far, I really like these tires as well.

    What do you mean? Make sure the tire is load rated for your vehicle.

    I have had 31x10.5/15 Wildpeaks on my 91 Land Cruiser for about 33k miles. Not sure how much I can comment on road noise because if I'm going over 60 in the Land Cruiser, there is too much engine and wind noise to tell, but Ive never had any humming or obvious noise. They really grip well in dry and wet conditions, and have done quite well for me in snow as well. Seem to be wearing great too.

    Just get a set of BFG KO2's and don't worry about it. I have put 2 sets on my wifes 4Runner and 1 set on my Tacoma and could not be happier. The wet and traction on pavement is excellent for an AT tire. The grip off-road is great considering its only an AT. On both vehicles there was definitely a little bit of road noise but significantly quieter than my Toyo AT2's. She got about 62k miles out of the most recent set and they carry a 50k mile warranty... so we were very happy with it. That being said, we rotated those tires at EVERY oil change (maybe that's overkill at a 5k mile oil change interval but they lasted longer than the warranty) and had the alignment checked every 6 months and usually didn't need it adjusted but once a year. I know that a TON of people hate the KO2's but I have been extremely impressed. I just sold my Tacoma and bought a Tundra that has Nitto Terra Grappler G2's on it and they are absolute garbage compared to the KO2... even at 11-12/32nds. I ran through a set of the Toyo Open Country AT2's and they sucked for the whole 39k miles I had them... I finally took them off the truck when they were only down to 8-9/32nds. When I began to slide on a wet highway I decided that the price of KO2's where only slightly less expensive than dying...

    Opposite experience on my end. I couldn't stop peeling out from a stop on wet pavement in those tires. Never again.

    I've got some Wildpeaks on my Tundra and I did a lot of research before choosing these tires. Price wise, they are comparable to the BFG K02s maybe slightly less expensive. Overall I'm happy with the Wildpeaks. I've rotated them twice so far and I've put 18k miles on them, they are wearing very evenly and nicely, in fact, they look great tread wise. Road noise isn't bad but they do hum a little.

    One reason I chose the Wildpeaks over they BFGs is the speed rating is higher on the Wildpeaks, not sure if this is because Falken is a performance tire manufacturer or what, but for a 10 ply LT tire, they have the highest speed rating of any of the LT tires I researched. The other thing about the BFGs is I've read that if you don't rotate them religiously, they wear down rapidly.

    It does a lot , like one of the other posters I get my oil changed and tires rotated every 6k miles , after that I get them aligned , I have free lifetime alignment on all my cars . You get older and I don’t mind paying for quality

    I'm not sure why Tundra recommends 36 pounds of pressure on tires, at least that's what my Tundra says. I keep a minimum of 40psi in my Wildpeaks and I actually like to keep the pressure in the high 40s. Heck, the max tire pressure is 80psi! So I recommend, for the best long term wear on these tires and if you get the LTs, keep the tire pressure above 40psi at all times. This has worked wonderfully on my Wildpeaks so far...

    Edit: unless you are rock crawling or off road, then drop pressure accordingly, but on road, 45-50psi IMHO

    I wanted a good all terrain tire that looks aggressive/good and perform well in wet condition. I live in TX it rarely snow here. The wildpeak seems to be the winner so far.

    Wildpeak are expensive now compared to a few years ago. They're $340 each last I check. Toyos are $370! Cooper and Grabber tires are a cheaper alternative but they don't look as aggressive wildpeak or toyos, they are only $30-40 cheaper. I could be wrong. I've been reading this forum for weeks and the time to buy tires will be here soon, still have time to decide.

    I don’t think so unless you are doing extreme rock stuff. They are a two ply sidewall, but what I’d consider a tough 2 ply. They are a heavy tire. I’ve had mine in some pretty bad and rocky stuff around Gunnison Co for 5 days. Put about 40-70 miles day on very poor two tracks.

    Odds are your door sticker is not for LT rated tires. LT rated 10 plys take more air. My door sticker says 30 & 33, the LT equivalent for my tire is 40 and 43.

    Do yaw have experience with both tires?

    I've read flat spot issues with the Wildpeak after sitting a while... have you experience any? Reading old threads it seems members in cold weather have flat spot after sitting in the cold for a few days... not sure if flat spots apply to warmer climate also.

    Toyo's I've read no issues with them at all other than they're expensive. Looking at Tirerack a set of 4 will cost me this much below unfortunately tax will be added so final price will be higher. They both perform great, look aggressive.. just paranoid about the flat spot issue with WP causing steering wheel to shake after going at 50+ mph.

    I run the Wildpeak at3 on my Jeep grand Cherokee, tundra and 4Runner.
    I just bought another set for the tundra this week at discount tire. However, call around to all the local shops etc and check pricing. Discount tire quoted me 2100 out the door for a set of 275/65/20. I bought them but then got a call back from a local tire shop and they priced the same tires at 1614.00 out the door. I went back to discount tire and told them I needed a refund as they were not installed yet and they beat the price by $5.
    What got me is that they didn’t even bat an eye to drop almost $500 on the set of tires.
    Just price check and they will price match the tires.

    wildpeak at3 are my favorite tires.
    not noisy, great traction and very good wear. I got 60k on my last set on my tundra.

    just a few thoughts.

    Functionality? OP lives in the NE. They get snow and ice. Sounds like a great situation for AT tires. Last time we were up there we got hit with a sudden snow storm off Lake Erie. I’m glad I had my Wildpeaks. A “street tire” for the tundra costs about the same price and wear about the same.

    What functionality are you sarcastically referring to in your post?

    some would say putting street tread tires on a truck or even owning a truck to just drive around is the same when you could drive a little Honda accord around to save on fuel etc.

    Don’t forget your in a tundra forum.
