New to the forum...considering selling my 4Runner and purchasing a new Tundra Hybrid. Anyone know if you can run external accessories to draw off the hybrid battery system while the truck is off? My fridge specs show a 0.9Ah per hour energy consumption in moderate heat and currently run a deep cycle single battery only for short trips.

I do not believe the hybrid battery is active with the ignition off. Also, if you could draw energy from it and it died, you would be up the creek without a paddle. Unless things have changed since I attended classes on hybrids, the battery requires a specialized charger to recharge. We use a portable power supply (PPS) to power our fridge when the vehicle is off and I ran a 12v receptacle to the bed to charge the PPS while driving.

The hybrid battery is 288 volt. So no, not directly.

The hybrid battery is something like 400 Volts isnt it? Unless there is somewhere you can tap into the 12V system that gets feed from the hybrid while off, I dont know how you would do it.

Without the power generator capability I dont see the benefit of getting the hybrid for overlanding/camping. Then you are offroading in a 600 lb heavier truck with no real gains. I'd save the money and invest in some LiFePO4's. A single 200 ah battery could run your fridge for like 7-8 without recharging.

Also, the Hybrid battery is not that big. I think its 1.85 kwh which is less than my renogy 170 ah battery.
